In the man's own words ( and why he wants to svoid Usyk like the plague from the looks of it)

    "
Believe it or not, this is going to sound strange, Cunningham was the hardest fight I ever did have in my whole career, amateur or professional.

“The reason being he was very slippery, I couldn’t pin him down. He was light on his feet, weighing 208lbs, he was a cruiserweight champion and he stepped up into heavyweights.

“He was a slick, talented boxer and I tried to walk him down, use my size and power, but he was just outboxing me.

“What I’m good at – boxing, moving, slipping and sliding – I couldn’t do against Steve Cunningham because he was quicker than me.

“It was like he was a better boxer all round than me, he

Don't forget that the WBC can parachute Chisora into a top 15 spot. Sanctioning bodies do this kind of thing all the time.

Wallin and Chisora rematches both have their pros and cons. Wallin is better prep for Usyk but maybe Usyk learns something from it. Chisora trilogy is more money and less wear and tear.

Yes I've seen the quote genius, plus a good few more along the same lines. Fury is prone to exaggeration, will sometimes praise opponents effusively, other times totally rubbish them. Watch round 1 and you'll see Fury clearly outbox Cunningham from distance, then watch round 7 and you'll see a 24 year old Fury KO Cunningham for the first and only time in a 40 fight career.

Keep telling yourself that Fury won't fight Usyk. You HOPE Fury doesn't because then you could claim a moral victory due to ducking and Usyk wouldn't be at serious risk of having that 0 snatched.

Good to see you know better than Fury himself...

The reasons why he struggled with cunningham is why he fears Usyk. Thats all im saying.

And I like Fury. So for him to behave like a coward and ducking the undisputed match is frustrating to me.
Instead ofvlooking for soft touches and easy wins he needs to find his balls and man up and fight Usyk if he beats AJ.

I want it to happen and to have the best man win. Any boxing fan should want that.
Or do you rather have hin fight that thor guy next?

No. If this is true, there is no amount of spin that can save this.

I totally agree. Fury is taking the **** by trying to organise a Trilogy with some washed up bum!! Absolute joke for Fury (who many claim is an ATG) to be thinking this fight is a good call

AJ is a sh*thouse who will be irrelevant to Fury after Usyk schools and batters him again.

Chisora has just beaten top AJ opponent Pulev has he not? And prior to that he'd beaten another top AJ opponent in Takam. He also won 15 rounds and scored a KD in his fights against Usyk and Parker according to the British judges. Going by his recent form against AJ's "top 10 ranked" opponents, I think it's an excellent defence. It will be very impressive if Fury manages to get Chisora out of there, seeing as all of those great AJ opponents couldn't do so.

These are potential explanations, not spin. It's obviously not a compelling fight.

If you hang on Fury's every word you'll hold two completely contradictory views at the same time. You obviously haven't been following him for very long, he's not a reliable narrator.

You made the claim that Fury "couldn't lay a glove on Cunningham" when in reality Fury was able to comfortably outbox him in round 1 and KO him in round 7. It sounds like you've never watched the full fight.

If Fury beats Usyk will you say it's an "ATG" win against a stylistic nightmare? Or will you make excuses?

Derek Chisora is still a top 5 ticket-seller in the UK. He's a big name and this fight would be big in the UK. There's no other fight that would make Fury more money right now, when you take into account that he can't fly to the US.

Majority of the people on here are of opinion Pulev deserved to win the rematch but was screwed over by the judges. Pulev clearly won their first fight.

AJ battered Pulev, who I would regard as AJs sixth best opponent he has beaten.

AJ irrelevant but Chisora is relevant? That's BS, it's avoiding as he has done when he turned down the 3 chances to fight him prior.

Majority of people on here thought Chisora beat Parker and probably Whyte the first time too. Chisora has exposed AJ's best opponents after Povetkin or even Wlad as being just a little better or a little worse than himself. 7-5 UD's, SD's either way, maybe Chisora KO's or gets KO'd...

AJ will be irrelevant in the sense that there will be no rivalry with Fury when he's 24-3. Fury-Usyk will determine the king of the division, AJ will be trying to put his career back together again, knowing he's been grossly overhyped.

The amount of idiots on this forum making out Fury fears Usyk :meparto:

Fury will absolutely demolish Usyk in a one sided beatdown provided he gets past Joshua

Great round 1 and after that he got dropped and schooled several rounds for the reasons why Fury claims he was his toughest opponent.
Exactly rhose reasons is why he should fear Usyk and he knows it.

If he dies fight him next snd beats him then full credit if course. Its important to have the undisputed fight next.

I like Fury for his comeback story and rate his Wlad win higher than most but if a boxer is ducking and dodging he doesnt get a pass.
