You d not have a clue do you ?? No one living wants to see GGG knock the Ginger headed cheater out COLD !!!!!!!! any more than I do BUT I refuse to buy any fight that the winning decision is made before the first punch is thrown. That is what has happened twice with GGG/Ginger. Gennadiy kicked Gingers ass TWICE but got screwed twice as the whole boxing world knows. Just look at all the posts here everyone says the same thing " GGG will never win a dec over Ginger in Vegas because of the blatant corruption" Is that how you want your boxing to be run?? If so go watch WWE most of their "wins" look more reliable than Vegas judges do on any Ginger fight
I don't think any fans outside of N. America think this is the biggest fight in boxing. Fans outside of N. America would likely agree with me that GGG got cheated twice, but they would also agree with me that GGG is - at this stage - more an old man who wants a payday rather than a fighter trying to settle a grudge. Basically, we've moved on...even if GGG has not. I'd be thrilled if GGG KOs him - but I don't think it's likely. And I'm not going to order the PPP for this fight.
Not the biggest fight, but its still a big fight with alot riding on it. Not to mention its mexicqn independence day so the fight will do good numbers on PPV.
So funny Canelos fan screaming from the rafters that this is the biggest fight in boxing, when it just isn't. It is a big fight, yes, but not the biggest. Canelo is coming off a loss, Golovkin is 40. It's miles behind Usyk vs AJ. Light years behind the winner vs Fury. It's behind Spence vs Crawford as well
It should be 2-0, or 1-0-1 for GGG, so we know who the evil side is. Looking forward to it. This is as Big Drama Show as it gets for GGG and his fans. Hopefully he can take the judges out of the equation this time. GGG is ready to rumble, antagonizing the arrogant Canelo.
Golovkin was battered the second fight but that first one was close. We all know GGG is gonna get worked the 3rd fight but I hope he makes it entertaining. Canelo still has great power but he has a stamina issue that he just can't get over. Maybe Golovkin takes the boxing route, but if he stands there and brawls Saul will win. Canelos kryptonite is pure boxers. Even Khan had him before the KO.
Damn brother, calling the Bivol fight close and arguing Canelo deserved the W in GGG 1 is pretty wild. You're either the world's most dedicated/bored troll (15k+ posts...) or have legitimate mental health issues. GGG was past prime in the first fight, but I thought won a close fight. I think I had it 116-112 or 115-113. I actually thought the second fight was more decisive as GGG clearly outboxed Canelo, but both were close, who knows how things looked ringside, really hard to call either a robbery. I think GGG is an ATG MW, not sure where he places but he's a problem for any middleweight that ever lived in his prime. The Bivol fight wasn't competitive. I have two Mexican buddies at work who are hardcore for Mexican fighters, one was Cali GG champ years back, both admitted Canelo got dominated and sonned by Bivol. Not sure how any honest man can spin that ****. I was annoyed when this fight was announced as I expected it was a cashout for GGG and he'd likely get TKO'd. As it nears, I'm getting warmed to it. I think Canelo may be too confident, might not take this seriously enough, although losing to Bivol might have changed that. I have faith that GGG has enough experience, heart, cleverness, and ability to try to pull off magic one last time, but the odds are against it. I wouldn't be stunned if GGG sets something up to get Canelo outta there, but it's hard to imagine he wins a decision in Vegas at age 40 against Canelo in his prime. Cardio alone will be an issue, he isn't so quick anymore.
I'm not spinning anything. The scores were 115-113 x3, that's close. Spinning 115-113 into a domination, that's something else. Your two "Mexican buddies" calling it a domination don't mean jack. They got carried away, simple as that. Even the rounds that Canelo was losing, he was still holding his own, rolling with punches, slipping punches, and landing shots, he was just being outworked and his output was reduced due to gassing. Opinions about how one-sided Canelo fights are usually skewed against him, to exaggerate what happened. The fight was not one-sided, it was highly competitive and entertaining, but Bivol did clearly win despite the narrow scorecards. I agree that GGG did better the 2nd time, but only marginally. I had Canelo winning the first fight wider than he won the rematch, but both were close. Most people say the opposite, that GGG did better the first time and Canelo did better in the rematch. That's mostly due to stylistic preference giving favoritism for who was the aggressor. I thought Canelo fought a smarter fight the first time, and had a better gameplan. GGG wasn't prepared for the movement. Canelo set traps, was the ring general, and didn't get hit with many clean shots. But he did gas in the middle rounds. In the rematch he took more risks coming forward but also inflicted more damage. We'll see.
My point was that the 115-113 cards were garbage. Bivol won all but two or three rounds, at most. It was competitive in the sense that Canelo wasn't stopped, it was not competitive in the sense that there was any feeling that Bivol was troubled by Canelo or might get stopped by him. Bivol was a significantly better boxer. I think people have GGG winning more rounds in the first fight because he came forward all night and made Canelo run. I score fights based on punches landed, and it was clear to me that GGG won more rounds in the second fight in terms of punches landed and damage done than in the first. Being a "ring general" sounds cool, but is generally very subjective. Punches landed and damage inflicted is much more objective and is afterall the entire point of boxing. You may note that the scoring criteria only includes things like ring generalship as a tie-breaker, lol. Head hunting in the first fight played to Canelo's strenght--counter-punching--whereas in the second fight GGG played to his own strength--points boxing. Canelo is not that guy, he was getting handily out-boxed by Khan before the stoppage afterall. Forgot to mention the biggest thing that has me hyped for this fight. Canelo supposedly went vegan for the Bivol camp. He appeared weaker, sluggish, and smaller to my eye before I had heard this. I also doubt he'll be juiced in the run up to GGG3. I think Canelo sans animal proteins and fats, with no PEDs may be too slow and weak to have a decisive advantage over old man GGG.
You have every right to your opinion, but saying I'm trolling or "have mental health issues" for saying it was close (which it was) is a bit much. You also tell on yourself from saying Bivol won all but 2 or 3 rounds "at most", because Rounds 1-4 and Round 9 could (and were) all be scored for Canelo. This has been covered pretty thoroughly before. Fans were split on who won rounds 1-4. They were close but there are more reasons to give those rounds to Canelo than to Bivol. (Canelo was the effective aggressor, landed the harder shots, etc) Sounds like you don't know the scoring criteria. It's clean effective punching (not just "punches landed", this isn't amateur boxing), ring generalship, effective aggression, and defense. In GGG 1, in the early rounds (until late in Round 5, really) Canelo was hitting and not being hit. For the most part. I had Canelo winning rounds 1-4 and rounds 10-12. With rounds 5 and 6 being "toss-ups". Canelo is "that guy". He was the only guy who beat GGG. And Khan, who was doing well was not "handily outboxing" Canelo before the stoppage. He was boxing well, and landing shots, but Khan wasn't winning, nor was he dominating. If your agenda is to exaggerate how well Canelo's opponents were doing against him, that's not gonna work on me. But of course you're entitled to your opinion. I agree Canelo needs to get back on the meat for this fight. I also think cutting weight to get back down to 168 will help his gas tank. He was carrying a lot of weight, that in addition to the vegan diet, probably didn't do him any favors against Bivol. At 168 he's Undisputed so we'll see if fighting at that weight, his best weight, makes a difference. I don't think he'll be underestimating GGG. He knows how tough GGG is, even at 40, this'll be a tough fight.
