Because he's being touted by his promoter at way beyond his currently-earned status. He's boxed nobody at any current level, but talks about wanting "the big fights" whilst never making them. To his credit you get the feeling Benn would fight anyone but his promoter avoids it - the hate is probably for Hearn more than Benn.

This is true. dismisses all domestic challenges as they bring nothing, Benn has no British title nor has he held one. European champ……hmmmm no thanks. active world champions…..mention them all to generate headlines. old/inactive/no power…..yes please. yes Benn has improved but if it wasn’t for his surname he wouldn’t be where he is. Not on ability or personality. Personally I don’t dislike him but he does grate on me with the big I am all the time.

Hearns junior has put a snidey clause in there that if young CHRIS weighs in above 158.5 the fight is OFF. (Source Tony SIMS) BENNE weighs in at 155 naturally anyway according to SIMS but is afraid to fight a live body in the welterweight division (where there are no limits on rehydration except for the IBF) so he’s thrown a boatload of cash at a 168lber instead to BOIL DRY down to 157lb and with additional snide clauses in there around water intake until after the fight. Is Hearns junior really going to enforce a water bottle BAN in Eubanks corner? This smells rotten to me. The ZONE must have paid young CHRIS a kings ransom to agree to this, I hope the youngster doesn’t suffer any lasting damage from being forbidden rehydration until fight night, also are the British boxing board of control complicit in this? Have Hearns and the ZONE paid them enough to look the other way from the effects of blunt force trauma to the skull on a severely dehydrated brain? Boxing is dangerous enough without charlatans like Hearns junior throwing money at people to go without water then take punches to the head, Hearns is a disgrace. I was just wondering if seniors Benn and Eubank had made comment given they both fought in fights with tragic endings. I hope they're both whispering in their sons ears to tell the greedy individuals behind this to fornicate off.
100% he did but he will be getting paid alot for it. Sometimes you need good people around you but we all know Eubank is a fighter and won't listen to anybody.
Agreed. Disgusting business. No doubt whatsoever that hearns and sons will have inserted some snidey limited liability clause in the event anything goes gravely wrong. matchroom accept no responsiblity, etc. Accountants first and foremost these guys.
