I know this is an old post, but I thought the fight could of been stopped as early as round 2. Bowe took over 70 punches in round 2, taking 70 punches from a man who weighs 240+ pounds shouldn't be happening. And that's one of the reasons Bowe is in the state hes in now.

The ref was terrible during that fight. He could have saved Bowe serious damage.

Yo, why am I on page 4 abd Fury's fights are not mentioned?

    - Mcdermott 1 was a clear case of the ref screwing that guy over. I think there was some history between him and the ref? Brits also stopped refs judging fights after gis ridiculous scorecard.

    - then we have his fight vs Wilder where any other ref than jack reis would have stopped it and it be a wilder tko snd nobody would say anything.

    - then his fight vs Wallin where he got lucky again to be able to finish with that vitali tko6 type cut.

The worst was how badly Frankie Randall was robbed of his title in the Chavez rematch.

Resto - Collins ... where was the ref ?

Johnson - Fulton 2 .. how many blatant head butts allowed ?

W Klitschko - Williamson .. very funky sequence saves Wlad from a likely career ending loss ..

A whole bunch of Pedroza fights smelt real bad ..

I always felt Buchanan got abruptly dismissed in the Duran loss ..

Juan Cotto-Eder Gonzalez 1 is the most ridiculous.

The ref in Derrick Gainer-Freddie Norwood was laughably inept. Gainer ended up winning, as he should have (by DQ), but it was somehow by KO.

The ref apparently mixed up the 20 count for boxers who are knocked out of the ring and the 5 minute limit for low blows. But Norwood ended up beating the 20 count anyway and it was ruled a KO.

He peeled Norwood's arms away so Gainer could blast him in the nuts. He then administered a 20 count that Norwood had to beat in order to receive the 5 minute rest (I guess that was within the rules). He then called it even though Norwood beat the count. I think the ref was sick of Norwoood's **** and wanted out. It's crazy that Norwood didn't even get a mandated rematch, but he hadn't even made weight so maybe that's why.

At opposing extremes of the spectrum.

Ultimate outcomes not necessarily changed but complexions heavily effected:-

Ali and Perez vs Joe Frazier.

Jones Jr and Nady vs John Ruiz.

Gotta go to the amateurs for this one. The referee in this bout harassed Clark virtually every exchange over nothing. He was having a running conversation with the referee. This contributed to the 3rd round knockdown IMO.
Clark still got up and won the fight clearly politics aside. Stevenson an aging great was propped up on this day. The better man lost.

Was it Ron Lipton that just decided to end the Merqui Sosa Charles Williams fight in the middle of the fight and call it a draw? He thought both guys had taken too much punishment so stopped the fight. I have not heard of that ever happening since.

Figured this needed another bump after what happened at the Super Bowl.

Another fight worth mentioning is Amir Khan vs Lamont Peterson. The ref really did Khan no favors in that fight and also made a bogus call of taking a point away as well.

Hatton vs Tszyu- Dave Parris is a gutter rat piece of **** who let Hatton do what he wanted and he still barely scraped by an injured Tszyu who was arguably winning. I'd have loved to see Kostya ice him in a rematch- I'd die happy to watch Tszyu fight Dave Parris.

good post I felt the fight could of been stopped at several times myself in particular I believe the end of round 7 and maybe round 8 I remmeber at one point Bowe on extremely unsteady legs just went back wards half the length of the ring to lay his back on the ropes and clearly would of fell (should of been scored a kd) without the ropes. I thought the Ref had to legit times in that fight he could and should of waved it off
