Liston actually fought and killed Hitler in a match in Argentina, he is greater than Louis and the Schmeling charade
Was the referee Max Schmeling? Was Eva Braun a Double Knot Spy working with Jethro Boudine and Ellie Mae Clampbett? Lol.
Four famous heavyweights in 3 years? All unexpected deaths. All connected to Jim Norris/Frankie Carbo and the IBC years. Thats some gypsy curse.
It’s Double Naught — naught meaning zero, as in 007 or any other 00- spy. Jethro of course was played by the son of Max Baer, Max Jr. Max Sr was, at best, a single-naught spy.
OK... Let's suppose there was a upcoming mob trial in the plot of The Godfather. Don Corleone is sat there in his office on his daughter's wedding day, stroking that cat. He calls Tessio and Clemenza in and says that he wants them to dispose of the four witnesses who will testify against the Corleone Family. He explains to them that this is a very serious matter, the very existence of the Family is on the line here so it's essential that they deal with this urgently. He tells Tessio and Clemenza that they must act fast and he wants all four witnesses dead within the next three years...
Yeah I know, I used to watch The Beverly Hillbillies, which by the way was Sonny Liston's favorite television comedy that first came out in 1962 and lasted until 1971. I also knew that Max Baer Sr was Jethro (Max Baer Jr's pop) Boudine. Thanks for your post.
The episode where Granny fought the kangaroo (aka oversized jackrabbit) drew something like 60M viewers. Insane how over that show was. Basically two-thirds of all television sets in the U.S. tuned in to see this epic showdown. (Another Beverly Hillbillies trivia: a young Sharon Tate had an appearance — or maybe it was two — on the show. I actually recognized her. She would later be murdered by the Manson Family.)
Sharon Tate and her unborn child were one of the murder victims at the hands of The Charles Manson Family on August 9 1969, also murdered was the Folger's coffee heiress Abigail Folger. I do remember the episode with Granny and the Kangaroo, also the two episodes with a young Sharon Tate, actress Martha Hyer also appeared on the show. Liston had said on different occasions that he liked to watch The Beverly Hillbillies. Max Baer Sr passed away in 1959 as the result of a heart attack.
Granny’s form looked better vs. the Giant Jackrabbit than Greb’s in the training film. I think she could have taken Tunney and Max Baer Sr., but I’d put my money on Jethrine if they fought.
' I half contest this. The second fight was suspicious as hell, for all intents and purposes it looks to me like he just plain lost that first fight (and yes, I'm fully aware of the hurt arm). As big a fan of Liston as I am (and I've become a huge admirer through the help of specific members here), I think Ali freaked him out with his movement, resiliency, and hand speed. I don't think he expected MA to be anywhere near that good.
