I think that was a lowball offer which Chisora was right to knock back. Whatever you think of Del Boy, he's worth more than that given what that fight would generate. Chisora has a following, he's good at selling a fight. He'd do all the pantomime required to entice some casual viewers, in any case there'd be a big sentimental following wanting to see the grizzled old journeyman get one last Rocky style shot at the title. A stadium would sell out and more PPV's would be sold than the fight would really be worth.
I don’t think anyone really cares in all honesty. He’s made his bag and wants out. Should retire or fight AJ if he wins. Clearly has no interest in Usyk (I think Fury wins if they do tbh)
I know. I'm not buying his tired patter or indeed paying to see him fight, but plenty of people still are. If that fight had gone ahead, Chisora would've been full value in the pressers, on social media, in the tabloids etc etc. If Fury's team didn't take account of that and give him a decent percentage that took account of that then more fool them.
Full value? He's his mate. But sure, eating s burger afterwards, flipping a table, talking shite and gassing out within a round is definitely value for money.
Not for me, see the last post I wrote. I like competitive fights between well matched fighters in their prime. I don't care about table flipping, shite talking or any of the rest of it. However it turns out a lot of boxing fans do care about those things, particularly the casual ones and if you via those antics you attract enough of those people to part with their cash then it's reasonable to be rewarded for it. You and I may both think that they are making a poor investment and we may prefer to see other more competitive fights instead. However, that doesn't stop the panto performers from selling out stadia and making money, which is ultimately the aim of the entire business.
I don’t get this. Fury was adamant he had retired; he seemed to genuinely believe it himself. Now this chisora trilogy came out of nowhere, trainer change (wtf?) and now the chisora fight that wasn’t happening until a week ago anyway has “fallen through” and fury is badmouthing shot old del. Guy is all over the place here, what am I missing? I’ve got to assume this means fury wants the USKY fight, and is trying to book a tuneup and a date before USKYjoshua II so he is tied up and can fight USKY in the new year? His retirement has been a shambles, Floyd Mayweather was the master at staying retired until the call for him to come back was at it loudest. Fury by contrast no one seemed to believe him when he announced it in the first place, and it was only a couple of months before he started announcing random comeback fights. Fury was on top of the world after the wilder trilogy and even the whyteleafe clinic but this whole act seems to undermine his credibility as a great. Strange cat, not sure what he’s up to this time.
Okay, one time is funny. Second time is like okay move along. Third time is GTFO with that **** already.
