Cool. I’m going to try and chase up some vision of that. Several boxers graced the set of The Six Million Dollar Man. I defy anyone who grew up with that show not to have made the “bionic” sounds when moving/goofing off…even to this day. The old Steve Austin doll…oops, I mean action figure…I used to have one but he “died” in a fiery crash in my backyard…not even Dr Rudy Wells could’ve saved him…. This content is protected
When I was a kid I remember seeing George Foreman on Sanford and Son. Fred got George all riled up, George punched a wall, hurt his hand, and had to cancel his upcoming fight. I saw Muhammad Ali on Diff'rent Strokes. Arnold was faking some dreadful illness so Ali would come visit him. As soon as he saw the champ Arnold started shadow boxing and revealed the hoax. I also saw Ali in a television movie with Kris Kristofferson about a slave rebellion. I can't recall the title. When I was a teenager I saw Mike Tyson do a quick cameo on Who's the Boss. Earlier Tony Danza did a brief Tyson impression, and at the end of the show Mike shows up and says, "I heard somebody here has been making fun of me."
Will Smith was about 6’ 1 1/2” but he appears clearly a bit taller than Holyfield - though Will got around in some chunky wheels back in the day. Evander was probably never more than 6’1” himself or barely over that. The big guy actor James Avery, was prob about 6’5”.
It kind of reminds me of the episode on The Brady Bunch where Bobby Brady feigns an illness to see his hero Joe Namath.
Nah, The Fresh Punce of Hot Air knew how to pick his targets - and future Alopecia “Poster Boy” ‘Vander wasn’t one of them - Fresh Punce knew that ‘Vander would’ve hit back with an actual closed fist and then followed through with his super hard, balding dome.
Joe Frazier, Gerry Cooney & Oscar De La Hoya - were all on the Simpsons. George Foreman was on king of the hill. David Tua was on a New Zealand cartoon series called bro town
I remember the 7-up commercial with Sugar Ray Leonard's and Roberto Duran's child from 1980, Feeling 7-up was the slogan. I believe it was right before Duran vs Leonard II.
