Ali would be the GOAT if he beat Holmes. Was that his biggest fight?

You never answered my question. Please produce an article showing Liston-Ali II is Liston's biggest fight since that's evidently your criteria for determining important fights.

Also just because one famous picture came out of that fight, doesn't mean it was Liston's biggest fight. Wouldn't it also be Ali's biggest fight using that logic?

He's not the consensus number one. It's between him and Louis. If he beat Holmes and won the title the fourth time, he would very likely be unanimously considered the GOAT. So using your logic, that would make the Holmes bout his biggest correct?

Fun fact: Joe Louis was favored to beat Marciano.

    You’re comparing apples and oranges.

It’s nitpicking but to me Golota’s biggest fight was Bowe 2 coming after the Garden Riot. That bout got huge attention. After he got Dq’d a second time failing to win a big fight he was tarnished a little. And the Bowe rematch took a little out of him.

Maybe, but Bowe was shot in hindsight, sort of like Holyfield against Ruiz. And it wasn’t for the title.

It's not apples and oranges. You're just not smart enough to understand my analogy.

Your position is that because Louis-Marciano was Louis's biggest fight because he'd be considered the GOAT if he beat Marciano.

Ali would also undoubtedly be the goat if he beat Holmes, so wouldn't that be his biggest fight under your logic?

Also it's not necessarily certain that Louis would've been the GOAT if he'd beaten Marciano. At the very least, Marciano's biggest achievement would've been erased with a loss, taking away much of his legacy.

It's possible this loss would set him back, and he never even makes it to the championship and he goes down in history as a might've been. So I doubt a win over Marciano does the wonders for Louis that you think it does.

At least Holmes was champion when Ali faced him. So if Ali beats him he regains the title for a record fourth time, making him the undisputed heavyweight GOAT.

In other words, Ali had a lot more to gain by beating Holmes than Louis did by beating Marciano, which by your logic makes Ali-Holmes a bigger fight correct?

Also I'm still waiting to see the list where Ali-Liston II is put forth as an example of Liston's biggest fight.

Louis—Marciano had attendance of over 17k and Louis was favored to win. It was a big fight.

Im not going to complete your research projects, for free, while I’m at work.

So now that attendance is a big criteria for your evaluations, can you now confirm Ali-Liston II wasn’t Liston’s biggest fight based on the attendance of just over 2K?

Or are you going to troll and change the goalposts more?

Liston beat top contenders and the lineal champion. Did Vitaly beat anyone top 5?
