How does Usyk do against these past great heavyweights in their primes?

You're comparing the early storm of Chisora and Nistor to a prime Mike Tyson? Are you for ****ing real or just trolling for clicks?

If Mike Tyson gets even a whiff of blood in the first 4 rounds, he's going to throw everything, including the kitchen sink in a hail of hooks, uppercuts and OH rights in a veritable hellfire storm of downright venomous fury that hasn't been seen since well, Mike Tyson.

I'd argue that MT has an equally granite chin, apex power punching, blistering combinations and actually a very good defence with plenty of head movement, rolls under the jab well and when in the right frame of mind, very impressive stamina.

Usyk could beat MT but, I can guarantee you now that Mike Tyson could definitely beat Usyk as well.

Holmes did have insane talent and an awesome jab but he didn't always put all his tools together in the most effective manner. Someone like Usyk would have exploited his flaws and lapses in concentration with his machine-like consistency of purpose. Course, if Holmes is dialled in and on form then this fight becomes very interesting indeed...

Well it wasn't good night for Holmes, Lyle, Ali, Tillis or Mercado so his power couldn't have been that amazing, could it?

Usyk is an ATG already. But he won't be afforded the same luxury of ever being allowed to lose a single fight like any of the other ATGs who lost are, most of whom many times.

You rose-tinted goggle wearing ****houses are lucky I'm a man of good breeding because I know you ain't about that life like I am when it's time to scrap.

He is much more skilled than those two.

This place has become a joke or maybe it has always been a joke,. Guys like fury and usyk are viewed as the greatest fighters ever, capable of beating GREAT fighters of the past based on beating what could be argued as bums. I get the feeling a lot of fury and usyk fans rate them so highly because they look like the champions they want rather than real achievements in the ring. Can usyk and fury fight? Of course they can but they aren't all-time greats yet. Holyfield for example fought in a much tougher era, took on all comers and beat most in his prime yet all of a sudden he's easy work for usyk?! Who has usyk beat remotely as good as Holyfield? Again I'm not saying he isn't a good fighter I'm just asking you fan boys to check his resume. Usyk beat bellew but if your honest bellew was in that fight and caused problems, usyk also struggled with chisora, now compare chisora and bellew to some of the atgs you said usyk would beat EASILY and something doesn't add up. I could look at other fighters who caused usyk problems but I just used those two as examples. Furys resume is paper thin but some of you have him as the goat based on what?? He beat Wlad in one of the worst fights I've ever watched and beat one of the worst heavyweight champions ever 3 times (worst in terms of actual boxing ability) yet hes the goat??
I know this thread isn't about fury but it's frustrating when people belittle the hard work and achievements of past eras and exaggerate the achievements of modern day fighters

Yeah, I actually mentioned in another thread that I would pick Usyk in this match up. I was just saying that I could see a Tyson KO, given that Usyk has shown to be susceptible to pressure early on, albeit by much larger opponents than Tyson.

It's also frustrating when the reverse happens, which is far more often the case.

Usyk is a great, proven Cruiser but not yet at HW. You have to do a lot more than he’s done. Some of these were career heavyweights that beat many good fighters for years. The eye test only goes so far. And against Chisora and Chazz ****ing Witherspoon, he didn’t eve look all that.

I'd have to disagree, in Usyks case he's had 19 pro fights yet his accomplishments are seriously exaggerated on this forum
Comparing him to the atgs is criminal he's had 19 f****** fights and it's not like all 19 were champions. It's the same with Fury, you just can't compare these guys with the champions of the past who had more fights and fought more top ten contenders yet that gets downplayed on here.

He's only had 19 fights but he cleared the CW division of all of its top names and became a unified HW champion in that time. His resume speaks for itself:

    Joshua
    Briedis
    Gassiev
    Bellew
    Mchunu
    Hunter
    Chisora
    Glowacki

He may not have the longest list of top 10 opponents, but he has never lost and looked good in all of his fights. When you've consistently looked good and gone without being beaten at the world level, of course people will rate you highly.

It’s nothing to do with nostalgia.

It’s how they’d have matched up stylistically.

I love Usyk. But he’s only had a handful of fights at the weight. And many of the guys mentioned would have been very tough match ups for him.

And Usyks style and ring IQ is why I am saying that he has a chance to beat everybody. Does not mean he will, but he has a chance, and nobody else in history has a chance like Usyk.

People forget that past HW's were small and most of them were todays CW and even lower.
