That doesn't make sense If it's not coming out, it isn't because it's good, you only hide things for bad reasons. If the rehydration clause was 180lbs for example, Hearn would be shouting it. Instead he's out right refusing to talk about it, even in his latest ifl interview. It's something designed solely to hurt Eubank. The fact he said he will be 60% in the fight because of it tells you a lot. His ego tells him that 60% of him is enough to beat Conor. Pretty amazing if it turns out to be true In that same interview he told us Benn fights at 170. The rehydration clause should be made public by the board, why is it allowed to be kept secret. It's the biggest point of this fight tbh and can easily change the outcome
If it’s such a rivalry then why the need for a rehydration clause? Surely they would just want to fight regardless of the weight difference? Imagine in the olympics someone saying to Mo Farah you aren’t allowed to drink any water before racing this evening, in fact Imagine any other sport where before the event one of the competitors wasn’t allowed to hydrate, never mind one where the consequences can be life altering. Fake, manufactured nonsense with the sole aim of fleecing as much cash out of the casual audience as possible.
In this day n age hydration testing is relatively easy. Same day weigh with hydration tests is the best way.
I’m pretty sure Hearn said the rehydration clause is less than the IBF one. So it’s less than 10lbs. Also I think this should be banned in boxing. Once you make weight you should be able to rehydrate to whatever you like. When you think about it how ****ing stupid is it to impose a rehydration clause on someone who is going to get punched in the head. It’s laughable.
Another issue in todays age is the obsession in being a multiple weight champ. That essentially means boiling down to a weight with extreme cuts that the younger body can cope with. No surprise with the longevity of Floyd and Pacquiao. They spent the best part of their career fighting at the weight they walked around in.
WBN are reporting he can’t weight more than 162lb in the morning weigh in. That’s extremely dangerous in my opinion, and frankly criminal. Wouldn’t surprise me if Eubank got quite badly hurt by any shot that lands.
I agree. A boxer who is completely drained and therefore physically destroyed cannot withstand being hit hard. In the worst case, it can cause serious brain damage. Fingers crossed that nothing happens.
That's insane if true Hearn says in his latest ifl interview Connors fight night weight in previous fights is 170lbs So Conor can rehydrate to a full 170 but Chris has to remain below that, a lot below that actually. Talk about trying to stack the deck in one fighters favour. Conor Benn doesn't seem to take fights where the odds aren't massively on his favour, from old age, to shop worn, to rehydration clauses. Doesn't sound like a "savage" to me I want eubank to win because of this nonsense the Hearn camp are pulling
It is laughable, stupid and dangerous. It'll carry on happening until eventually a fighter gets seriously hurt as a result of doing it, there will be finger pointing and blaming and eventually I see it being banned by any rational board.
Hearns junior will do ANYTHING to manufacture a star. Even if it means putting a boxer in a wheelchair “it’s just good business sense koogs”
Is it true that a rehydration clause less than 10lbs has been imposed on Eubank Jr but Benn has no rehydration clause ? I'm surprised the board sanctioned this.
The rehydration sanctions are the cherry on top of an already steaming pile of shite. Honestly hope Eubank poleaxes him out of principle. Which I think he will, even at 60%
Hopefully a short but devastating beat down and KO, one so bad that the casuals won't forget so Hearn can't keep selling his snake oil with this hype job.
