But, but … all the people with internet MD degrees say Ali was so crippled with Parkinson’s by this time that it was obvious to everyone in the entire world, and that you couldn’t understand a single word he said.

 

I’m talking about Different Strokes in 1979. The video is linked in my reply. He’s 100% coherent and obviously learned his lines.

 

At least it wasn’t one of those lame a** cameos, merely relying on the presence of a big name and nothing else.

The scripting for that scene was actually quite funny and to see Ali laugh naturally upon the sharp delivery of one of Gary Coleman’s lines added to the overall quality.

 

The best thing was that you could see that laughter wasn't scripted. As a matter of fact for a split second it almost looked like Ali tried to contain it but then gave in to the inevitable.

 

Yeah, that’s the thing - it wasn’t scripted. Ali was so good at making other people laugh - if you could actually pull off getting him to laugh at something you said, well, that would be the ultimate compliment.

 

I must admit it is very dark but nonetheless it is still a good film.

 

Something like that lol. I just recall Hagler being on a full house type of show.
