Not fully convinced by this dude, if he were American the ESB would be calling him a Deontay Wilder 2.0. Yes he punches extremely hard but I’m not too sure about his boxing skills and defensive acumen. I’d fancy Frank Sanchez to beat him pretty comfortably on points.

That's probably a game-changer for Makh. He's been the epitome of a "High-Risk / Low-Reward" fighter. Signing with Top Rank should open up opportunities for a lot more big fights because Top Rank should be able to guarantee much more substantial purses for his opponents.

I'm wondering if this might mean Tyson Fury could actually be serious about his retirement this time (i.e. Makh's signing helps fill a vacancy in Top Rank's stable).

Like many people here, I’m not convinced either. His power is good, but he doesn’t know how to set up punches and his jab sucks.

His aibility to manage a fight and his overall "ring generalship" are still question marks - but at least this agreement should ensure he gets more useful tests. I am optimistic he will pass them.

One bad cough and 90 year old Arum is in the hospital for a month. What happens to the boxing landscape when Arum is no longer in boxing? Do we see a resurgence with Haymon not have a promoter he won't work with keeping a large portion of the boxing talent restricted from fighting his stable?

Much better than the crappy promotion Dychko signed with too. They are killing that guys career.

Still don't think he is taking over, but at least we can see some good fights, now.

The fight which I'd like to see is Makhmudov vs Ajagba. Two very hrd-hitting and very limited technically brawlers will make it interesting in the ring.

Considering they are both with Top Rank now, this fight might be made in the near future

Yep. As infamous as he is, Haymon does much better for his HW. Whether they’re European or American, they all get high profile bouts. Hearn too, to a lesser extent.

I think Karayel had signed with Arum at one point too, anyone remember him?

Still better than his previous promotion, nonetheless.

I hope this helps his career, I really like him but he does have those question marks that only a higher caliber of opposition can answer.

Let's hope after KOing Takam he can do another fight before the end of the year. Maybe December?

    Hard puncher.

But, in all seriousness, the constant twitch in his face and head is unnerving. Some neurologist should check him out.

No offense intended, but we don't need another Magomed Abdusalamov. Some of those Russian fighters don't tend to get the best medical advice.
