I would say so. H2H from 130 to 140, I think Crawford is 50/50 against all fighters who fought in those weight classes. Same thing for Spence at 147. Hell, I would make the argument that if they would've fought in manny and Floyd's era, they would be the two best fighters in their era. Crawford is a tremendous boxer who is arguably the best switch-hitter of all time, and Spence is one of those old-school fighters who has the will to put in on the line. When they retire, I think they will be remembered in this same class as the Fab 4 and Floyd and Manny. Thoughts?
I like both fighters and I could see them hanging with people like Oscar,Tito, Mosley, Cotto and maybe on a GOOD night Floyd and Manny. Not saying Bud or Spence win but to say they wouldn’t be competitive is a bit harsh.
No. But Crawford and Spence have a better shot at beating a prime Floyd than a prime Manny. A prime Manny would put a serious beating on all three.
Based on Spence being taken into deep waters by a damaged and drained Brook. Based on Crawford being badly outboxed and hurt by a pint-sized Gamboa in the first hald, getting lit up and dropped by a nobody in EK, and taken into deep waters by a high mileage Porter that was thinking retirement heading into the fight.
If only there were still an active fighter Floyd fought... Oh, I know. I'd love to see one of them vs Canelo. Floyd was past his prime, they're in their prime, so this is even a generous match up. Plus Mayweather had to go up 4 divisions from his original division to fight Canelo, Spence would only have to go up 3. Seems fair to me.
no. i would put them in between the leonards and hearns, and the starlings and browns of the division. they would give the atg's a decent scrap, but would lose. they would be around prime pac level at ww, maybe a bit tougher.
