Unsure if Joshua’s style will suit Garcia’s tactics. Garcia wants his fighters to be aggressive

Dave Coldwell trained Tony Bellew for his defeat to Usyk in 2018 and is unsure if Joshua’s style will suit Garcia’s tactics. Garcia wants his fighters to be aggressive and Coldwell feels Joshua is uncomfortable fighting on the front foot because he does not like taking shots.
“Garcia’s fighters are all very good aggressive counter punchers, smart fighters,” he said. “That means AJ has got to be comfortable with punches coming his way and that’s something he’s never shown yet. Just because that style works for fighter A, it doesn’t mean it will work for fighter B. It’s all about the mental make-up, can they box in that style?

All AJ needs to do is hit him up the body and get him to high guard and ring circle

Problem is AJ can't take one to give one. He's too soft.

Need a blood & guts type of fighter...like Fury.

Mikey is the exception, that dude has talent.

 

Odd thing is, with Joshuas size, it would probably work. Unfortunately he is too scarred mentally to effectively apply the take-one-to-land-one strategy though.

Dave Coldwell, I remember that rat. He got Price to 'bulk up' despite already being massive with big power and already struggling with his engine at lean weight. Then Price gassed against Hammer and got ground down and stopped and Coldwell hung him out to dry.

AJ is slower than Usyk and hasn`t displayed much talent, he`s better on the backfoot because he`s easy to counter on the front foot, he has a good uppercut and a right hand but his hooks aren`t all that, his head movement is quite bad too.

 

Price had no chin and was easy to hit flush.

When AJ beats Usyk on Saturday I trust you will give him respect.

Is this the same Dave Coldwell who blamed David Price for his loss to Christian Hammer and took no responsibility as his trainer for bulking up a fighter who already had stamina issues ?
