Limited fighter with a bully mentality who’s got too much money sitting in the bank to really put the work in. Chisora level fighter but with less hunger for the game.
I think Dillian Whyte probably will return to the boxing ring. He has received several offers. I know the Boxxer / Sky Sports offer is financially very lucrative so I will be surprised if he doesn't end up back on Sky.
I like Whyte but beyond giving him the first round I'd be pushed to even give him the third where Fury wasn't even doing very much. His feet just wouldn't allow him to get near Fury, and when he did Fury would tie him up or make him miss wildly. It was a bit of a dull fight, because Fury controlled the distance throughout and was never in danger. Having said that, I'm not sure there is another fighter who could make Whyte look that bad, so I think his career still has legs should he want to keep going n.b. the push was a bit sly, but the referee was right to stop it once Whyte fell into him and into the ropes.
Look at his recent fights. Ko’d by fury after being made to look like he shouldn’t even be in ring with fury. ko’d a fresh out of the hospital povektin who could barely stand up, Ko’d by povektin. fat as **** and dropping rounds to an ancient wach. He’s been on the slide for a while and fury just put a nail in the coffin.
Goes to show the state of the division when a guy that can’t even throw a straight punch or does a 360 when he throws a hook is still in demand.
Aside from my belief and the consensus that Fury won every round, people often get caught up too much on rounds. Some claim that because Takam was apparently ahead on the cards against Joyce that he was doing well, making it competitive. But the fight was anything but competitive and Takam never had a chance as Joyce was making Takam work harder than his engine would permit. Takam got destroyed in 6 rounds and was never in the fight; even if he was slowly winning the points battle he was losing the stamina and durability battle at a rapid pace, that was Joyce's gameplan. It's a fight at the end of the day. Whyte's performance was considerably more hopeless than Takam's because at least Takam landed some significant punches and didn't get one-shotted.
Whyte's skills are probably as good as they've ever been but his chin is in decline and is likely to be even worse next time out. His feelings of vulnerability could further deplete his suspect gas tank in the future, like Pricey. To have success he needs to avoid punchers like the plague, especially if they have a good uppercut in their arsenal. He also needs to avoid movers. If he does that he could still have some success. Chisora 3 and Pulev are very winnable fights for him.
Yeah but look at his RESUME And the MIND GAMES he played with fury in the build up, not turning up to the pressers
he might be shot but I was always surprised anyone reckon him good to start with seriously he more is of the average British champion level domestic. not the real world level
