None that stand out as “genetic specimens” like you hear cited for the likes of Johnson, Jeff and Mcvey. It’s obnoxious that they use them as an example of what’s possible to excuse steroid use when it should be obvious they’re as natural as a tree and not particularly impressive at all.

Jim Jeffries was a very muscular looking dude but probably not the MOST muscular. And I’m not sure if he did some form lifting or resistance training or not. Very strong guy though

EDIT: sorry just saw that Jeffries doesn’t meet the timeline as he was gone by 1919

“Looks like a bodybuilder James J Jeffries” **** off and step into a gym. “Mcvey looked like Mike Tyson” “Jack Johnson was like 5% bf” UGH

Why be mean when you disagree?
Apparently with folks who have posted these opinions in the past, but no need to seem enraged that they dare express such wrong opinions.
First off, these guys did look muscular-bodybuilders range from no more than leanly muscled, non-competitive, natural folks to professionals & steroid monsters.

I've been a member of gyms for decades, bodybuilders have a huge range of looks unless you specify...The levels, merely recreational, competitive, natural or not, on or off-season...

Jeffries without being particularly tall was ~ 225 lbs. in his prime & fairly lean.
McVey looked like Tyson in face, & while not quite as heavily muscled, not too far from him in lean body mass.

I will give you that I do not know how anyone could see Johnson as anywhere near 5% bodyfat.

Big Boy Brown was a hefty guy at 240+. Wasn't shredded with defined muscles, but was obviously very stocky and strong AF with a huge wide chest and a borderline power lifter physique. I doubt he lifted given the era he fought in (1940's). If he didn't and got that size naturally (and thats powerful muscle underneath that gut) it's pretty impressive.

I never heard of him, but thanks for showing us this guy.
Ad that at 6'1" max. he was not so tall-being his weight at more like 6'6" would mean less.
I cannot see the muscle on his abdomen, but it was surely there.
Hard labor likely helped him get so strong.
Also I see that while he ha a losing record, he was likely a Cousin of Joe Louis-& he mostly fough those whose record was much better than his own!

Doing a Google Search I found a "Bad Boy Brown" much smaller boxer.
Survived 3 shootings but not the final one...

LOL, yes, just getting out of his armchair - what would’ve been best for that objective - a clean and jerk move or the snatch?

Actually, Joe Louis kinda curled the Fat Man, all 233 lbs of him, when he hit Tony with that hook/uppercut and more or less lifted Galento off the floor.

There you go, visual PROOF that Joe Louis lifted!

Big Boy looked to be a very happy fella - “jolly” might even be a better word for it.

What about the HWs who looked like they didn’t lift but did? That’s pretty sad. Just say’n’…

This is true. I wouldn’t have guessed that of George…whatever floats your boat I guess.

I wonder if George liked staring at Goats too? Not George as in Clooney of course, we already know he did.
