I know perfectly well what I am talking about. There are some fighters who are willing to eat some to land their own work fearlessly and then there are others who completely freeze up after tasting leather, AJ belongs to the second category without a doubt.

    Joe Gallagher.

He hired the Mexican knock off version of Joe Gallagher, now he needs the real thing

You realize you are on the front foot and you are being countered, and this type of punches when you going forward and eat punch hurt like a lot more ???
This also takes your energy away. This is just not a proper tactics at HW and you going to get KOed.
Yeah against C-D level opponent you can allow yourself to do that, but not against the very best, because you will feel the canvas.
The moment you get countered by a hard flush shot, you are going to stop on your feet. How exactly you are going to land anything by yourself when your opponent already made you miss, and you are in bad positioning and eat a heavy blow?

I doubt you ever fight, or your will be talking different.

Joshua needed to be willing to take risks to have any chance of beating Usyk. Staying and waiting for counters is horrible against a guy with Usyk's timing and experience and lost Joshua the fight both times. The few times Joshua didn't choke his right hands in both the 1st and 2nd fights he stopped Usyk in his tracks, so Joshua's right hand was his best weapon against Usyk.

But, for the most part Joshua hesitated and would wait and every time he waited Usyk being the experienced fighter he is hit him clean almost every time. Joshua just seems to be afraid to risk getting knocked out and unfortunately that doesn't cut it against other elite fighters. Usyk in the middle and late rounds turned it up and took risks and got clipped a few times, but he did what was necessary to win.

Usyk and Fury if it happens will be a very interesting fight.

Im sure i heard Garcia telling AJ he was 3 up in the break between rounds 3/4.

    Wtf?

Thats not much different than the whole 'Brilliant AJ!' meme that McCracken got roasted for.

Usyk simply has AJs number, and no coach in the world is going to change that IMO

He stopped Usyk in his tracks, but with what? Yeah exactly catching Usyk on counters. When he was on the front foot trying to hunt, he couldn't find Usyk head.
He also give it a full go in the 9th, how that pays off?
Did you see the 10th ? He catch Usyk with a huge Right hand, and Usyk was a bit shaken by that.

All of the good stuffs from AJ comes from the counters. AJ is a top notch counter fighter. Going full pressure on Usyk just not going to work, cause you will get tired + you will eat hard counter shots all night long.
Usyk have very solid chin, and you won't KO him with 1-2 solid shots. I think that was crystal clear after tonight fight.
Also Usyk doesn't stand still, that's the problem, and its not just AJ problem, it's a problem for anyone.
AJ has very quick hands, and has very good explosiveness, as well as great combos, if he can't catch on Usyk, good luck anyone else doing it.

Why is it such a failure for him to lose to Usyk? He lost to a better fighter.

The Ruiz fight was worrisome and he avenged that. I don’t get the doom and gloom here though.

Is Usyk that great or not? If he is then why is AJ such a failure for losing to him.

He can continue his career and fight other guys like many other good fighters that lost in the past.

Joshua can’t land his usual precision combos on Usyk. It’s that simple. His reaction time and cardio can’t deal with Usyk’s volume and cardio either.

Not a lot of HWs will match Usyk’s stylen(none actually).

Trouble is...who can he beat? He is mentally broken, Wilder and Fury are both a stylistic nightmare for him...AJ has reached his limit. He's gone as far as he can go and can retire with his head held high. He's had a fantastic career.

Stick with Garcia. He was in with a great fighter tonight. No shame in losing. He made a better showing than last fight. Give Garcia some more time to work on things.
AJ also has the attributes to be a good Kronk fighter. Tall, power puncher. Some of the criticisms he gets are similar to the ones Wlad got. If the stories of Fury dropping Sugar Hill are true, maybe AJ could give him a call.
