Today was a tough day for size maxis.
The lineal heavyweight champion of the world is 220lb, and a former cruiserweight.

Here is what Usyk had to say about his size "disadvantage" :

And here is an emotional Joshua seemingly describing his size as a handicap:

We mourn those who have developed their size narrative for the last two decades.
We feel your pain and we are here with you every step of the way towards recovery.

    Bless up.

    Great post.

Also, that outburst by Joshua was just sad. I don’t blame his team for distancing themselves.

Our 2022 version of Chris Byrd is 3 inches taller than the Year 2000's Chris Byrd.

    Size wins again! :ibutt

    Reznik lies: Usyk was 22

lbs., waaaay down by a 1/2 lb. from his last fight!
And imagine that due to possibly intentional media manipulation, many thought he would come in much larger-on the extreme end hitting 250 lbs.! :coleman:

Seriously though Good points man, although size makes a big difference in that even Usyk is not gonna be as good if he was the size & muscle mass of "only" most HWs & ATGs-until later in the 20th century.
I think he is treading the line between being heavy enough at 6'3" to have good enough power & punch absorption & grappling ability...While not sacrificing that much of his cardio ability.

I love that a guy need can be just big & strong by any normal standards-but need not be massive or the biggest guy that can still fight & take a punch to be dominant.
Note although he does not have a lot of body fat his relative thickness around the waist-he does not take body shots the best, but that muscle there likely helps him absorb blows.

There should not be one template to win, especially with rules that unfairly favor the bigger man.
Let there be many paths to victory.

You do realize Usyk is a big man himself and very skilled, right ?!
It's not like any 220 man can beat Joshua who, btw, is no ATG. Even so, Joshua would still beat the likes most if not all HW champs 1960, and even a few after that, like Foreman or Frazier.
And btw, I don't even like Joshua.

In your dreams perhaps. Foreman is one of the most overrated boxers in history. A man with great punching power and not much else.
Foreman lacks the speed and boxing ability to make his power effective.

    would destroy Joshua though

    Joshua is THE most overrated

    & was smashed by Ruiz
& almost by 41 age Klitschko

Foreman whatever you think of him will destroy fragile mind AJ

    No he wouldn't.
Joshua is average, but still good enough to beat Foreman.

No, that's Ali by a country mile.
Nobody rates Joshua that highly, except for British people and dumb millennials.

Finally, 1906’s very own “Chris Byrd”, Tiny Tommy, Burns, can now be viably reintroduced into the all time H2H fantasy match ups without being unfairly culled out due to size (lack thereof).

First fantasy opponent off the rank is AJ - Burns, cleverly darting in and out from under AJ’s legs, periodically boxes Joshua’s ears off for a wide UD.

AJ then hoists Tommy up for a congratulatory piggyback-horsey ride, grabs the mic at the same time and proclaims that Burns must be some fighter to have beaten such a HUGE man as himself.

Usyk in attendance, broadly grins and applauds Tommy’s performance, saying “I feel, I feel…”.

No he wouldn't. Foreman is way too overrated.
