Patterson was better than Canelo in everyway he would have won pretty easily, Canelo doesn`t have the power ingo and Liston had, nor could he have beaten Archie Moore.
Patterson by KO. Canelo could not handle the speed of Bivol, Patterson was faster and stronger than Bivol. Canelo may have a chance if he pumped himself with roids à la Holyfield.
Patterson is a nightmare for any man who is below the heavyweight division. I'd bet on him every time. Had he been a light heavyweight he would likely be considered the GOAT of the division. Patterson hung around with the best of an era and his resume is not contentious in it's quality of opposition.
Atlas commented on how Canelo was "cocky" and "showboating" with his head movement with Bivol, those aren't the kind of games to be playing with maybe the best combination of speed and skill on offense a heavyweight has ever displayed
If this really went down, no doubt the hype/build up would outrageously frame Canelo as a very good chance here. Maybe the hype will be enough to spill over into the actual fight and give him the first four rounds by sheer default (if it even gets there) per the judges “eyes”. My view, Patto - easy 4-5 round KO victory. Btw, I never dream about boxing - BUT I did have the briefest dream “vision” of Canelo being violently sent through, between and on the ropes, down and out, KTFO, his opponent unseen. I needed to get this out there, in case it is prophetic (LOL) in respect of the upcoming GGG bout. No good claiming it after the FACT. Not a fan of Canelo’s so some unconscious bias might’ve been involved in my premonition. However, If I’ve nailed the outcome, then I should be recognised as the board’s resident Medium…at least until and subject to my next “vision” - since you’re obviously only as good as your last one, duh! Patterson would destroy any natural middleweight with absolute ease. He's easily top 10-15 h2h for cruiser sized guys. His hand speed alone would give Canelo nightmares even if they were the same size.
