And he was also saying that they still gave the Lomachenko vs Salido fight to Salido even though the Crimea region of Ukraine was being invaded at the time. So he was basically saying that it wasn’t fair that they didn’t give this decision to him.
This did not cross my mind after the fight. I admit I was a bit confused by Joshua’s behaviour after, I thought he lost his mind. This explains everything perfectly though, you are exactly right, this is what was going through Joshua’s head.
He actually said to Usyk : "HOW did you beat me?" which is different. That siad, it was such a bizarre episode, who really knows what was going on in his wee napper?
No he is saying his improved skills did not help him win. Ultimately the mindset of a winner like AJ is to win at all costs.
I was just on Twitter and all these people from the UK are saying that AJ totally owned Usyk and Loma in his post fight speech while simultaneously calling out the corruption in boxing. Several people were basically saying that it was one of the greatest sports speeches ever given. Do that many people in the UK just unconditionally love AJ like this?
You’re just interpreting and spinning. If a guy loses a fight and says ‘boxing skills did not win this fight,’ the automatic assumption isn’t that he’s saying his skills fell short — he’s saying the fight, which was won by Usyk, was not won by boxing skills. And given that Usyk didn’t win it with power or strength, that doesn’t add up to ‘I was outboxed.’ It does only if you’re an AJ apologist.
A lot of people were also saying before the fight that the ring was small, the ropes were too slack, it is rigged in AJs favour etc etc, and if that were the case then the belts would have changed hands, they didn't so proves it wasn't rigged in AJs favour either. It was a good fight, both men deserve respect, especially AJ who did put up a better fight than the first time, he was much more improved and it showed, sadly it wasn't to be, but credit to both guys, the better man won though.
So AJ did the following: 1. Draped himself in a Ukrainian flag. 2. Got in Loma’s face (Loma being Ukrainian) and tells him to stuff his condolences, ‘good boxing has to win.’ 3. Said to Usyk: ‘I am skilled. Skills win boxing. You’re not strong — how did you beat me? How? I had character and determination. (Let me interrupt here to put 2 + 2 together for you — he says skills win fights, good boxing has to win, and he has the skills. He’s asking Usyk ‘in what way do you think you won’ when he says ‘how did you beat me’ — he’s not asking Usyk to solve a mystery.) 4. He throws a fit in the ring. Tries to go after someone (presumably Usyk or his people). Storms out of the ring and stomps off. 5) Comes back and takes Usyk’s belts and trashes them, throwing them out of the ring. 6) Takes the mic like he’s the winner and goes on a long rant about the Ukraine. 7) Says he’s a new breed of heavyweight, invoking the names of Mike Tyson, Sonny Liston, Jack Dempsey and Rocky Marciano as if he’s an evolutionary step into the future. He does all this and your interpretation is that AJ is saying: Good fight Oleksandr. You are the true and deserving winner. You boxed my ears off.’ Really? He says HE is the one with the skill (as well as character and determination). He throws the belts away — rejecting the outcome clearly. And you think he’s giving Usyk — the Victor who he won’t even hand the mic to have his moment or address his fans and people in his own country — acknowledgement? I grant that AJ talks in riddles (when he does talk) and seems delusional, so none of this is linear, but his ACTIONS as well as his words say he’s being a sore loser here.
