Just because Usyk overcame those things and still won, it doesn’t mean they weren’t trying to give AJ every advantage possible. Just look at Glen Feldman’s scorecard. If the British judge had gone along with Feldman and scored the fight for Joshua, he would have won.
Olu needs to watch the UFC last night to see how a real man takes his loss. Osman has been pretty much invincible so his ego must have been shot from the loss, but he didn't go full ****** like AJ.
I thought after the fight he was suffering with some sort of concussion initially with his mad rantings and erratic behaviour. He even mentioned Vitali fighting Danny Williams at one point.
It’s a convenient excuse. But if he’s suffering from a concussion, why aren’t ringside doctors ordering him straight to medical care? Why isn’t Eddie or his corner seeking medical attention? What’s he doing at the press conference? I think this is a simple case of AJ being AJ: there’s a reason why every headline for the last several years regarding him starts with ‘Eddie Hearn says AJ says …’ or ‘Eddie Hearn says AJ believes …’ AJ isn’t allowed to speak for himself often. It’s always through Eddie and on those rare occasions that he does speak for himself, it’s in a very controlled environment. He’s like the crazy uncle the family keeps locked in the attic so he won’t get out and bring embarrassment to everyone.
I've not seen that at all. If anything AJ is being flamed relentlessly and you can argue perfectly well, that he deserves it. I was originally an AJ fan but, as his opposition has improved then obviously, the cracks and faults in his game/stamina/durability have been increasingly exposed. Add to that the ridiculous level of expectation, being surrounded by sycophants obviously out for a slice of the pie and having a hot air balloons amount of smoke blown up his arse between every round of both Usyk fights, along with the corporate and media pressure and AJ really is a recipe for a total mental meltdown catastrophe. Contrast AJ's corner last night with Leon Edward's (which is exactly what AJ needed to be told) and there in lies the problem. AJ needs a reality check from his 'team' in the biggest fight of his life, not a competitors medal but, a rocket up the arse to give him the kill or be killed urgency required when you're well behind and out of the fight. Unfortunately, his surrounding environment of the last 5+ years hasn't had the bollocks to do or say the right thing at the right time.
The only reason Loma didn't go Matrix mode on his ass is because AJ no longer had a soul for him to harvest after Usyk baptized him.
Yes I do. I also don’t believe in kicking a man when he is down especially when he has fought valiantly with honour.
I think some have misconstrued the exchanges with Loma and Usyk which preceded the monologue. They were obviously trying to console him and reassure him that he boxed well, which Joshua was essentially interpreting as a pat on the back for taking part. Seems to me he was rejecting what he felt was undeserved praise. 'Allow that, bruv. If I boxed so well, why couldn't I beat him?' Understandable enough emotional reaction in the heat of the moment. I don't hold it against him. It's the throwing belts around, hijacking flags, grabbing mics and stealing the entire moment away from Usyk that can't be excused.
But he didn't did he go along with it, and Joshua didn't win... Jesus Christ on a ****ing bike mate, maybe Jordan thought he had more influence than he thought, and the Saudis said **** that and kept it honest and real... The best man won, and like you say had to overcome the obstacles in front of him if true to do it...
They had the judges in the bag. One went along with the plan. The other had a crisis of conscience and decided he couldn’t be that crooked. That doesn’t prove it was on the up and up, it shows Usyk won so convincingly even a bought judge couldn’t go against him.
Surprised how many people are misinterpreting what AJ is saying there. Hes not saying he thinks he was robbed. Hes saying if his boxing was that good, he should have won, and since he didnt, it wasnt that good. Hes saying 'f that s' to the moral victory that his performance was good, as Loma was likely trying to give him compliments about his performance.
If that clip was all there was to it Id be relatively fine with that. Ill take a guy being over emotional about a loss a million times over these guys that take their loss with a smile and go to the after party just happy they made money. Despite what people try and project on him, its about more than the money with AJ and I like when fighters hate losing like that. Of course, this isnt all there was to it and its just a blip in an overall mental breakdown lol.
