Usyk very good but won't be an issue for joshua

Keep reading that Usyk gave away the first few rounds. He didn't Bellew boxed well and kept him off.
As the pressure started to tell and Usyk made some adjustments the right hand started to land less and less and then Usyk started to sit down on his punches but Bellew made him think in there and early doors the straight right to the body was causing a Usyk a few issues.

I think we have seen mobile fighters, like Parker, like Takem these are the guys that give him trouble. So if Usyk can keep his foot speed and mobility then he can defo cause issues and with the way he's built even at heavy I don't see him being feather fisted - but Bellew landed plenty of right hands- if AJ lands the straight right like Bellew was having success with earlier in the fight it's hard to see a guy who is 3 stone lighter against a genuine puncher staying vertical for 12 rounds.

 

I would go with AJ, purely on size. It matters. Hypothetically though, if Usyk has some sort of chin at HW and can keep up his work rate for the full 12 then AJ is going to have a torrid time. We've seen that he can blow big time.

 

My thoughts exactly. Usyk can't sit down on his punches against AJ and needs to fight similar to how he did against Gassiev

If he can have that high work rate from the start and work the body then AJ will be in big trouble in the later rounds.

Easier said than done! I still think Joshua blasts him out

 

Look at the scorecards on Matchrooom shows, any round that Usyk doesnt score a knock down will be a Joshua round.

 

'Trouble' is a word that would need qualifying here, as I don't think it's a very serious position to take when suggesting Joshua was actually given any trouble by Takam or Parker. He beat both of them very easily.

 

I think Usyk beats AJ. AJ struggled to land clean on Parker, and Usyk has far better movement than Parker.
Yes Usyk does get tagged but I think against Bellew he knew he could take his power so was happy to take a few shots to land his own.

 

i try to reserve judgement on his HW capabilities until i see him hit flush by one, but i'm inclined to think he is more skilful than any of the top HWs and has the style to beat them all. But i need to see him hit by a proper heavy before outright saying "he beats 'so and so'".

 

No issue at all. Joshua came, he hung in for 12 rounds, came up short and surrendered his belts.

No issue whatsoever.
