Joshua and Hearn say he will fight in December - who should Joshua's opponent be?

I think Zhilei Zhang would be a good choice, really for both fighters (because Zhang would receive a decent payday). The fight is easy to make for Matchroom works with both men.

Agit Kabayel needs a fight, and I think he may have worked with Matchroom before, with his Chisora fight.

Martin Bakole will fight anybody. Zhan Kossobutskiy would be an interesting opponent, we don't know for sure how good he is. Mike Balogun needs a fight and might accept.

Dillian Whyte has been talking about wanting a rematch for years.

Chisora would be perfect but they are close friends. Dubois would make for a very interesting fight but there is a promotional conflict.

There's no way he'll be back so soon.

No too sure who it should be....but if i was otto wallin i,d be sitting by the phone the next few weeks. Safe opponent. Easy sell to casuals as well. Good record on paper. Relatively soft puncher. Done pretty well against fury. Should be a low risk return to a guy that has a respectable 24 and 1 record to the casual fan.

Should be looking at joyce soon tho. Joyce is highly rated atm. Think joshua would damage him too much before joyce,s superior stamina could get to joshua.

Hrgovic as well. Respectable record on paper. But you,d favour joshua highly after last night.

Get him on the Usyk v Fury undercard and that'd be a PPV i'd pay good money for.

Saudi have a lump sum ready to host a giant boxing match in December for the world cup

Eddie wanted it desperately but Fury and Usyk now run the show

It was in Hearn's and Joshua's plans before the fight, back in July, and he confirmed it today.

Wallin would be a great opponent for him. I think he should take a break though.

Hmmm I'll believe it when I see it. Don't get me wrong, I hope he does, but he barely fights once a year these days.

If so, I think it'll be a top 30 sort of guy. Maybe Kabayel?

A Whyte rematch gets him back in highlight reel fashion.

Also, with all that's happened to these two since their first pro encounter, I imagine the build-up would be very entertaining, much moreso than the churlish and tetchy exchanges during the promotion for that 2015 bout, mainly because of the potential for hilarity, as each man has plenty of comedic material to work with where it concerns the other.

I would love to see him fight Whyte. If he can't beat Whyte, it's time to retire.

Ideally Joshua would beat Whyte or someone else in the 8-15 range, Wilder takes care of Helenius, and we get Joshua vs Wilder next summer. Championship or not, would be a fantastic fight and they'd both make a mint.

Bearing in mind hearn/dazn has him signed to a lifetime deal....i reckon he,ll be out a lot....against carefully picked opponents. Should be good tho....carefully picked opponents will still be decent enough fighters. Wallin. Joyce. The chinese guy. Hrgovic. Etc. Decent fights. Hearn will get greedy at some point tho.

Wouldnt touch dillian whyte atm. Been there and done it plus hard to top furys performance against him. Wallins a smart pick next atm. He,ll do better than fury did against him....starts people thinking joshua v fury is still a possibility down the line.

Just hope joshuas allowed to leave the sport at the right time bearing in mind the lifetime deal. Joshua looks pretty easily influenced and eddie,s pretty good at influencing. Another couple of years and time to get out i think. One last go of it.

He has alot of good options as noted above. Not sure Zhang or Hrgovic would be ready by December after their grueling brawl.
