Trying to diminish this victory is weak. AJ took care of business and easily beat fat Andy in the rematch. If they fought again, AJ would beat Fat Andy every time. He was careless and got caught in the first fight. It happens but the rematch was a different story. Usyk is on a much higher level than Fat Andy (or AJ for that matter).
Imagine Beckham, after sending the penalty way high over the bar against Portugal, saying to media afterwards: "I started playing football to late, and I didn't play that many junior league games. Also I'm not really fit enough for 90 + extra time.".
AJ can run quickly in a straight line but how good is his engine? How good is his footspeed in the ring? Is he nearly as agile as Usyk? All of these things are much more relevant to boxing than the 100M, even aside from things like heart, boxing IQ, composure, focus etc.
Imagine being a heavyweight boxing champion and saying you're not a 12 round fighter lol it's like a doctor saying they don't know what a headache is
And? There are always exceptions to the rule. Hopkins technically didnt start late either,he just was a teenage con rather than trainig seriously.
Billy Conn didn't have any amateur fights but seven years after turning pro he was beating the much bigger and heavier (2 stones) Joe Louis on points going into the 13th round. He also hurt Louis badly and had he not got the tactics wrong and stood in front of the murderous punching Louis so much, who let's not forget was flattening 250lb HWs for fun, he would've 100% won. A same size Conn with an amateur career would beat Louis 100 x out of 100, right AJ fans? This content is protected
