I think it'll gel well. I can see a situation where Usyk is doing just enough to nick rounds going into the middle of the fight which means Fury will have to hunt him down in the second half.
7 days to make the fight? Seems Fury was never serious about making the fight. I'm shocked! Shocked I tell you!....well not not that shocked.
I wouldn’t bother hanging on his every word. It’s fairly predictable he’d threaten to retire as some sort of negotiating stance.
Fury's charisma is off the charts. The man has an undeniably imposing presence. The man does as he wants. Line up Martin, Pulev, Breazeale, Takam and Molina to deepen his "resume".
There's no chance he'd be doing media stuff if he wasn't serious about the fight. The money stuff and deadline is all pantomime. What a fight to look forward to.
Most murderous? Laughable. Easy night? Cunningham gave him kittens ffs. Usyk will make Fury work at a pace that he just hasn't seen, ever.
Thing is, do you remember there were back and forth negotiations between aj and wilder for months and then all of a sudden fury vs wilder gets signed within a week
Yeah Wilders team celqrlt were never interested or serious about making the AJfight. Wilders team turned mutiple offers over double Wilders career high purse at the time. Hearn moved onto Fury and offered them a 40% split to which Warren called derisory. Wilders team then offered the same split in a much smaller earning fight and Warren and Fury accept straight away (much easier fight against limitted opponent and they get to show BT 4ather tha Fury going across to Sky).
Did the Hearn offer not also include Chisora and Whyte (or similar level) prior to AJ? Given Fury's state at the time do you think he should have taken that offer? For what it's worth, in hindsight, it seems like Fury chose right...
1st offer - when Fury came out retirement out of contract was a 4 fight deal - Kauffman, Bellew Whyte and AJ. Furys team demanded 3-4 opponents the level of Panietta, Kauffman, Sefrei and Sxhwarx types then AJ. Hearn said he couldn't accommodate such low level opponents for the sort of money Fury was demanding. 2nd offer - made before the first Wilder fight. MR offered Fury 40% split to which Warren confirmed they received the offer and called it derisory. They then agree to a 40% split against Wilder. 3rd offer - Due to Wilders postponements, Arum claimed that the Wilder rematch for their 3rd fight was no longer valid and was only valid for certain date. Arum stated that wilder's team had no leg to stand on legally on this mattwr. Months of negotiations went for AJ vs Fury fight before Wilders team won the abirations. No attempt by Arum and Warren was reportedly made to offer Wilder step aside money.
