Joshua isn’t fighting anyone in December, the earliest he’s fighting will be April no matter what his Dazn contractual obligations are
Depends if fights someone just as good if not better. It's reportedly rumoured Pascal, a former WC past his prime but who has beaten Jack, Browne and Fanlong in his last 3 fights and proven to still be world level. Johnson (who I used to rated highly) hasn't looked the level he was in his relative 2 fights against lower level opponents. If it turns out Buasti next opponent isn't Buatsi not of the level of Johnsonn then he deserves criticism in my opinion. Wilder has turned mutiple offers double career high purse at the time and previous chances to be undisputed champ just to then fight inferior opposition.
The offers at the time were all over double Wilders highest purse at the time. I don't know how the $120m refusal can be viewed anything other than a duck.
Agreed that was bad advice. Was that not a 2 x AJ 1 x Breazele signing solely to DAZN over a 36 month term?
Joshua should fight Big Meech so that we can finally put to bed who is the toughest on the streets. Or if that falls through, Elton John, for the title of baddest man in Watford. If (and it's a BIG if) Joshua wins, there is a clause which says he can remove Elton's belt and throw it out of the ring to join the other two belts he disliked so much on Saturday night. If Elton is on tour, then Hearn has one of those students from Loughborough lined up, the fight is going to be called 'Clash of the Minds'. We all know who is likely to win that one.
Nobody's seeing Joshua inside a ring until next spring. A reappearance for next winter just isn't a possibility.
But it wasn’t $120M free and clear for one fight was it? It required giving Eddie/Dazn options and Wilder’s team was unwilling to do that. They don’t want to be tied to Matchroom or Dazn in any way. Joshua turned down $50M free and clean — one fight, no strings.
Not only did he turn it down, he left Showtime to go sign for DAZN, renegotiated his Sky contract to include world wide exclusivity for UK TV and signed to face povektin expecting Wilder to wait pretty much a year to face him. But that's not a duck apparently. Imagine if the shoe was on the other foot.
“Blah blah blah offers and splits, a side b side numbers koogs we’ve sent the contract by recorded delivery it’s on route as we speak my son” this is the matchroom legacy, convincing boxing fans that legacies are built outside of the ring. Meanwhile INSIDE the ring Joshua has never faced the top two, and is 1-3 in fights against blown up middleweights.
If he has yet another massive absence from the sport then I'll be ready to write him off. It's completely unnecessary and would be a strong indicator that he doesn't want it anymore.
