I did not suggest "moderation"-that the truth is always in between opposing positions.
I & virtually anyone here-many expert & who favor modern fighters due to some advantages-deemed more important that the old timer's advantages I alluded to-can vouch for that it is fanatical to give Ali only a statistically meaningless greater chance over, say a crippled 120 year old one armed dwarf.

In fact most would favor Ali, but it is absolutely laughable to say even Usyk has virtually no chance.

Also you are making errors in logical extrapolation re: comparing times in events like swimming.
First off, there has been improvement, but these are in absolute capacities for specific skills like speed & strength.
Boxing like other sports benefits from athleticism, but only to a point: & some of the greatest ever have limited brute capacities, such as baseball players can be dominant with great hand eye coordination & limited speed & strength, same for boxers & guys like Usyk-not large, strong or a hard hitter.
    But brilliant & an ATG.

Furthermore are you aware that the amount of progress MADE in sports like swimming & track & field is distorted, overstated by advantages in equipment & terrain?
Phelps would not swim as fast without the most modern pools & bathing suits & being shaved.
Bolt not as fast on worse or cinder tracks, with primitive or no spikes, with lesser starting blocks...
And guys like Jesse Owens would be faster, likely under 10 seconds in the 1930's WITH all these advantages.
Not what they might be developed into-but the actual times under fair & equal conditions if reincarnated.

You did not say Ali never threw to the body? OK I will believe you & rescind that sorry.
But on compubox I only see the shots landed-& you did not mention the greater discrepancy in power shots in Ali's favor-not how rounds were scored. Maybe a subscription is needed?
Either way I cannot see how you can get to the lowest official score advantage for Ali-11 points-let alone the highest one-by using the logic of 3 10-8 rounds, last not scored, & Ali only given 2 more rounds.
Just CUT & PASTE the scoring & I will admit it if you are correct.
LIKEWISE just tell me where I missed a near crippling body shot by Karl on any video link, what time stamp.

Ali fought a guy like Foreman, with many nuanced skills besides raw power, framing, parrying, cutting off the ring, very athletic, fast even subpar in a soft ring in Zaire, 220 or so when foolishly dehydrated for bouts in his prime...
So he is not quite as big as Joshua, Ali like Louis did the best against bigger guys.
Also AJ has significant skills & obvious deficits.
A large target, called robotic, never moves his head...How can you critique what % of punches he landed in fights like against Karl when Usyk landed less?

You cherry-pick stats, & IF I was a fanatic for old-timers I would not be independently trumpeting him as an ATG & giving him a chance against Ali.
I never claimed Ali could hardly be touched in his prime: NO HW has ever achieved that.
Although in some fights like against Williams it was nearly literally true...

You are SMART & can make a good case, whether or not I agree.
However if you cannot admit what you must know if given Truth Serum-that your Ego is married to irrational, fan-favorite positions like Ali would have a snowball's chance in hell against Usyk...

And continue to promulgate demonstrably false assessments like Ali went "life & death" against a fighter he dominated on all official & fair scorecards & kept knocking him down & never went down himself...

But allow me just slight hyperbole to say nobody not institutionalized will dare claim that a fight where Ali was down no times...
Mildenberger down in 3 rounds & stopped in the 12th...
    Where the

scoring Judges went 147-136 in favor of Ali...Could possibly be described in words that MUST MEAN Ali was in Grave Danger of losing...As "Life & Death".

You will only hurt your cause of persuading people.
All your efforts may only convince folks of the opposite.

USYK did not do nearly as well as Ali vs. Mildenburger on official, "consensus" or fair scorecards.
When there were no knockdowns or stoppages.

Yet you & everyone Sane & Fair would admit Usyk

People who say ali is the goat are literally the same plebs that say micheal jackson is the best singer of all time and hendrix the best guitarist.

Boxing is evolving all the time. Nobody fights like Ali anymore because it doesnt work nowadays. Maybe Tyson Fury could box somewhat like that and have success with it due to his combined size and athletic advantages (just like Ali had in his time) but why should he dumb down his overall skillset when he has so much more to offer? Its just disrespectful to everyone involved in the sport - himself included.

What does Fury do better than 60s Ali besides switch htting ?

Your answer will let me know if you have any boxing knowledge or not.

People who believe that 60's Ali could be remotely competitive today have been thoroughly brainwashed by media narratives. He was a big athletic guy (relative to his era) with club fighter skills, hence how much he gets pounded by the likes of Cooper and Mildenberger: domestic-Euro level LHW-sized men from 60-odd years ago.

The GOAT is subjective, but Ali is a worthy candidate, based upon his ability and his resume.

Ali was just big and fast (for his time) and he lacked skills.

He couldn't throw combinations like Rocky Marciano.
