Anyone On Here That Thinks The 70 s, Golden Era, Is Overrated?

    Heavyweight 70 s era obviously.
    Seen a few posts thru the years, basically saying that era and fighters are overrated.
    To me personally, it's a perfect era for boxing, lot of big name fighter s and events happening.

    But maybe not for some??

    Everything heavyweight gets overrated.

    But that said it was a very good spell for heavies, maybe the best. Lots of good fights and good fighters.

    The most exciting and talent laden era in heavyweight history in my opinion. Look at the main stars - Ali,Foreman,Frazier,Norton,Holmes. Plus an excellent supporting cast - Quarry,Bonavena,Lyle,Shavers,Young etc. Speaks for itself.

    I like that everyone fought evertyone, but that was more or less the case in the 90's too, with a couple exceptions.

    But they're heavyweights, so I tend to dismiss them anyway. Aside from that, the 70's were fun.

    All boils down to personal preference I suppose. No doubt, some believe that the 80 s alphabet lads beat the 70 s guys..
