Who do you miss seeing fight.? Fighters that you really loved to see.? Lennox Lewis Tyson Nigel Benn Tommy Hearns Hagler. A few off the top of my head for me personally.
I find myself missing the overall experience of anticipation in searching anxiously through the TV Guide magazine we got every Friday night in the mail, outlining the following week's programming in a day-by-day format. All I was looking for was the Saturday and Sunday listings, which outlined specific programming for any fights that might be aired on television that week, and on which channel. Before I got a job and had to then sacrifice many such delicious afternoons, I treasure the memory of sitting there absorbing this new obsession I had, being introduced to several fighters as a teenager that we now discuss here regularly. They are a touchstone to my past and while most of them wouldn't be considered great fighters, they are among the most important to me in my own experience. Rocky Lockridge Harry Arroyo Donald Curry Edwin Rosario Ray Mancini Marvin Hagler All the 84' Olympic class And several others.
I know, I know. Its a that great feeling of seeing a new fighter coming through. Making his way in his career and watching as many fights of his you can. Not had that for a while. During the 80 s, Reading the boxing mags and hopefully watch a few fight on TV. In the UK we didn't get as much choice back then so grabbed anything going on TV! And yes, it doesn't matter if not great fighter s, it's the ones that are ingrained in our memory s.
Absolutely! I remember watching Lopez, Chacon and Tury "The Fury" Pineda when they were coming up. Pineda didn't make it to their level but they were all in very enjoyable fights.
