Thought garcia done a pretty good job as well. In terms of getting him ready for the fight. Was a much improved joshua that second fight even if the result was much the same. Pretty sure that english journalist with the long hair the guy thats a bit of a goon that interviews fury a lot was saying....joshua was complaining about how hard camp was or something like that even before the fight. Seen a report of a lot of sparring etc. Makes you wonder if its actually worth it for joshua at this point. Comfier life in sheffield....softer sparring/less damage taking for post retirement etc....still able to beat decent enough fighters making good money or take the gamble taking a lot more damage in hard spars etc to try to become the best (which doesnt really look like happening)....when your already a multimillionaire. Think i would take the gamble and roll the dice for 2 years trying to be the best but time to call it a day after that.
I think it happened even earlier. Ever since Wlad he has been different. Getting dropped and nearly stopped changed something in him.
Of course, Garcia is saving himself by blaming Joshua. He just doesn't admit: "I couldn't train him well to beat Usyk". AJ is a specimen. If he trained with a better trainer, he would beat Usyk.
Arnold Schwarzenegger is a specimen too. The **** does that have to do with boxing. AJ is slow footed, uncoordinated, and unintelligent compared to the HW elite.
AJ would easy beat Usyk in a bodybuilding competition. I thought AJ fought a pretty good fight and improved upon his previous performance. He just got beat by a better fighter. Usyk is special and might be the best boxer in the game today. AJ would have beaten most other boxers with that effort. Maybe not Fury but I’m not sure he wouldn’t have beaten Fury too with the effort he gave. Fury beat one dimensional Wilder three times but I think AJ is a much better fighter than Wilder. IMO, AJ Fury is close to a 50-50 fight right now. Hope we get to see Fury Usyk because it’s the best possible matchup in boxing. Unify the belts and let’s have one guy on top of the boxing throne. I’m a Usyk fan and hope he wins but if it’s Fury, I at least hope the cards are legit. The cards in Usyk’s last two fights were pretty bad. The guy who had AJ winning should have his kneecaps beaten with a sledgehammer and should be banned from even watching boxing again. The judge who had it close should be given paper-cuts all over his private areas and have them doused with rubbing alcohol. Oh, and be beaten severely before being banned from ever judging a fight again. Usyk should be more concerned with the judges than with Fury if they fight.
Bulk and athleticism are big factors in hw boxing but they can be overcome by exceptional talent and guile which Usyk has in spades.
If Wlad didn't let him off the hook his career would never have got off the ground. Gave him five rounds to recover
OK, so now its the trainer. At his age there isn't a trainer that is going to mold him into anything else. There isn't a trainer past or present that is going be able to teach him how to outbox Usyk. I do believe KO Usyk, not out box but out slug. That was the game plan. You heard it in the corner. Let your hands go. So enough with this its the trainers fault. He is what he is. He either sucks it up and lets his fist fly, take some punches to land his much harder punches or he loses. He chose to not throw and lost.
Happens to all in Boxing especially now with so many Youtube videos with Channel's that aren't as popular you can find anything, so many example's dating back years where this has happened with regarding the Trainers, Fighters, SC's, Cut men, you name it, Too many to name here but let me know if you want some.
Usyk is a humble human being. He's a good person. But he is also supremely confident in his ability as a fighter. He KNOWS he is better than you are (as a boxer). That's why he'll take on anyone, anywhere. When you have to face someone that confident, and they actually can back it up, it wears on you. As Joshua said after the fight, he's not really supposed to be here. He started the fight game late, etc. You have this boxing cyborg coming at you, yeah, that can mess with your head. Holyfield was interviewed after the bout. He said that Joshua never mentally recovered from not finishing Usyk in Round 9. That is, Joshua had his chance and he couldn't capitalize on it. And, in Evander's mind, it was all downhill for Joshua from there.
