Are you serious ? Do you think AJ should return already in december ? That would mean that AJ have to start a training camp in 5 - 6 weeks time ? I hope AJ takes a long and healthy break and returns in March or April 2023.
Yes I am serious. If he fights in December it will be around 4 months after the Usyk fight, that seems a reasonable gap to me, and it wouldn't be against anyone particularly good, someone like Wallin would be ideal. April would be 8 months between fights, after just having an 11 month gap, I just don't see these big gaps as beneficial. Spending time away from the sport isn't going to rebuild his confidence or work on his skills.
If they want to put him in with an undefeated top 15 opponent there are numerous options that are available- Demsey McKean would be my pick as he’s boxed over here before and is a big chap who admittedly would pose little actual threat to Joshua. If DAZN want a PPV caliber fight then Whyte would fit the bill- there is a backstory and needle there plus the fight would likely not last the distance.
AJ won't fight Chisora. They're good friends from Finchley & District Amateur Boxing Club. My money is on Whyte II. Makes sense as it's a British rivalry and will sellout a stadium.
A stadium?? Two fighters with five losses from their last nine fights or something. Yeah definitely sounds like a stadium fight koogs
We won't agree and that's okay. I think he needs a long break where he can reflect on several things. Besides, AJ should hire a spin doctor who can help repair his tarnished image.
That post fight meltdown cannot be undone or his defeat to Spud Ruiz - the damage is done and it is eternal.
I'd like to see him go to Vegas, put the USA demon to bed and iron out Wilder inside 3 rounds, then move on and beat Joe Joyce / Whyte all by this time next year, so fight every 3-4 months............there's more chance of me coming in from work and finding Jennifer Laurence getting the tea ready, but thats my two penneth
Battle of Nigeria against Efe Ajagba. He was ranked 19th by the WBC last night so he may have broke into the top 15 now. Fight the winner of the 4 man wbc number 1 contender tourney which will hopefully be Wilder. Then onto a voluntary defence against Tyson or obviously the mandatory position.
You think Joshua would iron out Wilder within 3 rounds? Seriously? No version of Joshua beats Wilder in my opinion and he isn’t a draw over in the states even with the fanfare of Ruiz 1. Miller or Whyte in April most likely, both great fights
