And the NEW Panasian Boxing Parliament Heavyweight Champion ...

    Anthony Joshua!

Gassiev looked as old as his 42-year-old Bridgerweight opponent yesterday.

A prime Gassiev is an awful match-up for a pre-Wlad AJ.

Before Wlad, Joshua was aggressive but in a measured way, using his height and reach to find a power shot. He was quick, powerful and thanks to his amateur background had a serviceable jab and was a good at countering with the right hand. Once he had a guy hurt, he was decent at closing off the ring and would rain down power shots. One of the most underrated aspects of Joshua was his ability to read openings in a guard. He'd find room for hooks to the body or wait for them to lean down into an uppercut. Back then he hadn't really fallen in love with one shot in the sense of being predictable with it. However, McKracken fighters always wound up being a little open when closing the show and Gassiev would undoubtedly in my mind, find the same opening Whyte did and unlike Whyte, wouldn't lack the stamina to close the show. Gassiev by come from behind KO is my pick there. After the Wlad scare, I'm even more confident in this outcome. If Ruiz could...

However, the Joshua who rematched Ruiz and beat Pulev would be much harder for Gassiev. He'd have to really plough forward and I think Joshua's superior movement and combinations would likely lead to Gassiev signing to the silent agreement and meandering to the finish. Could be wrong though, he could wear Joshua down and stop him. AJ is no Usyk. But he is far bigger and more powerful.

I have a people when Joshua's career is over, the perception of him as a fighter will be extremely out of scope. Due to scares, defeats, changes on trainer, style and the clear deterioration of his psyche, he's changed a helluva lot over the last few years from when he first come up. For better or worse is up for debate, but I do think how, or more accurately, which, Joshua shows up makes the difference in this fight, and probably most other hypotheticals.

Ultimately, he was always a top 3 heavy upon reaching the top level, but that'll be forgotten in time and his flaws will over shadow what he did well. For right or wrong.

Then Gassiev will retain his Panasian Boxing Parliament Heavyweight Title ... which is officially the funniest title in the sport.

    :)

I mean god forbid someone brings back old threads of yours which shows another wrong prediction, in this case it is Gassiev.

My "wrong predictions" always seem to be about the same two or three predictions.

So I must be doing something right.

I don't remember from one thread to the next who predicts what.

You routinely predicted the defeat and demise of the greatest fighter or these times AND the recognized greatest heavy. And these at the hands of a total simp in Wilder and guy in AJ who is quality but highly flawed. You would be better off watching bar fights. That is more your speed.

When are you going to apologize to Usyk for saying that he was looking for a pay-out?

Highly unlikely imo. Gassiev isnt hard to find and AJ doesnt hit like a lightweight. I think AJ gets the stoppage mid rounds.

Neither does Dorticos. It's pretty obvious Gassiev has a solid set of whiskers.

Hes got whiskers but if Gassiev gets hit at will by AJ its not going to end pretty. If Gassiev wasnt a stationary target id give him more of a chance.

He's been a lot more defensively responsible since his move up to HW, yeah I know, he's fought nothing but bums, but I see that he's already cognizant that they hit harder, so I doubt he'll just be mindlessly walking into shots.

I'm pretty sure I did that during the actual round-by-round of Joshua-Usyk 1 when I rooted for him during the whole fight. But you didn't bump that one.

But if you have his phone number, I'll give him a call.

Because you constantly bad-mouthed him and said that he was just looking for a payout, which was vile.
