I really don't think he would drop or stop Chuvalo. Wilder is not as accurate as some of the fighters Chuvalo faced although he does punch harder than most of them. Chuvalo fought Bob Baker L10, Zora Folley L10, Doug Jones KO11, Floyd Patterson L12, Ernie Terrell L15, Muhammad Ali L15 and L12, Oscar Bonavena L10, Buster Mathis L12, Jerry Quarry KO7, Jimmy Ellis L10, Cleveland Williams W10, and others. He was only stopped by Joe Frazier LTKOby4 and George Foreman LTKO3... neither man was able to put him down.

    Wilder couldn't drop Johann Duhaupas.

Deontay quickly turning into the most underrated heavy on the forum.

If he fought in the 50s, he’d be a God.

Chuvalo fought FOUR punchers in his career. Two of them were shot (one of them literally) yet both staggered and hurt Chuvalo badly by his own admission.

The other two despite being very green, stopped him early and the fact they didn’t drop him means nothing considering the only reason he wasn’t dropped and down for the count is because the ref stepped in and saved him. He was defenceless in both cases and on the verge of a KO loss.

Would Deontay knocked down every boxer he entered the ring with, except Johann Duhaupas (TKO), where the referee stopped the fight or he would have knocked (or killed) him too.
But he wouldn't knock down George Chuvalo; I don't know whether to laugh or cry.

If he didn't stop him, would he beat him?

Chuvalo couldn't whether the storm of an extremely green Joe Frazier. I doubt he'd be able to against a much more powerful Wilder.

I think Deontay probably stops him too but my question was, if he didn't stop him, who would win?

I meant even if Chuvalo survived, I very much doubt he would be in a position to turn the tide and would lose a lopsided UD.

Highly doubtful he survives in the first place. He faced 4 significant punchers throughout his entire career. Neither were anywhere close to their prime, yet all of them gave him significant trouble, and 2 flat out stopped him.

I’ve always felt 100% the same way. While I concur that George Chuvalo was a VERY tough and durable man, his chin had been blown to divine proportions. If the ref had let Foreman beat on him for maybe 30 seconds longer there’s no way he’s finishing the night on his feet. I’m not totally sure or not if wilder definitely floors Chuvalo but I do give him a chance
