    He waited until he saw that Hagler was in decline an ready for the taking. Hagler would have destroyed him if they had met in 83 or 84

    Johansson, Ellis in the sense that they both had the best runs of their careers that led to title shots, and then they never were able to get it together in quite the same way afterward. In other words, they made the best of their narrow career windows. Probably could include Braddock in this category too.

    I love it when people completely ignore the fact that while Hagler was indeed older, Leonard hadn't fought in THREE YEARS.

    Michael Moorer against Holyfield. Came at a real low point in Evanders career and was the absolute high point of the notoriously temperamental Moorer’s. I’m a bit of Teddy Atlas apologist but Teddy really pulled a miracle in pulling MM up to Evander's somewhat lowered level.

    Leonard was inactive and was fighting at a new weight for the first time. Ridiculous to make it like he was at an advantage.
