No way. Bam beating Inoue does FAR more historically and right now for Bam than beating an old Estrada and Chocolatito. No way you believe that.
Well historically in the sense that hes clearing out his division before moving up to 118. If he beats both of those guys and maybe Inoue stays around 118 for a fight or 2 then maybe we will get that fight sometime next year. If Inoue moves up right after knocking out Butler we might not ever get that fight, at least not when it means something.
hes got butler and fulton to get through, and jesse gets choco and gallo. then they meet at 118. monster aint going up cause he outgrew the weight, hes 29, hes going up cause he outgrew the competition. he will come down for a superfight. the fight could fall in place as soon as fall of next year. im putting it in the shared consiousness right now, so the ball can start rolling.
Thats what worries me! Tough fights for both but if they get through them both and remain undefeated then hopefully we get a real Superfight next year between the two.
I'm not the biggest fan of "clearing divisions", which is why I haven't been happy about Inoue staying at 118 even though it may not be fair to him since 122 may not be his real division. 122 for Inoue could be like 135 for Loma or 175 for Canelo where they're clearly disadvantaged. Point being all I care about is the best fighting the best. If Bam beats Inoue that would be one of the best wins against a prime fighters and would propel his career into superstardom. But like I said earlier, Bam is so young, if I was his handlers I'd let him develop like Bandeedo said and he has every right to. Guy is only 22 and will keep getting better.
i dont agree. choco looked better than ive seen in years, last time he was spotted. and hes been a fixture on the top half of the p4p lists for a minute. thats gonna matter in 30 years. especially when theyre watching the fight, after watching the 11th rd ko of inoue by jesse just a year after.
A win over a prime Inoue is better than a win over a prime Chocolatito and Choco is nowhere near prime anymore. I guess you're saying Bam beating Choco than beating Inoue is better than just beating Inoue, which would make sense, but if we're talking about wins vs old Estrada and Choco vs Inoue, almost no one would agree that a win over those 2 vs Inoue is better.
I like the concept of clearing out a division because it leaves no question that hes the best and that he ducked no fighters. And i agree about Loma and Canelo, and Inoue is cut from that same cloth as those guys and is willing to chase greatness even though it might bite him in the butt.
I think we can all agree though that this has the potential to be a superfight. Speaking of super fights, if we can get even 1/3 of these fights in the next 1-3 years I'm a happy boxing fan. Inoue vs Bam Ryan G. vs Tank Teo vs Taylor Beterbiev vs Bivol Canelo vs Benavidez Spence vs Crawford Fury vs Usyk Vergil O. vs Ennis Shakur vs Loma Wilder vs Joshua Charlo vs Fundora
Inoue is the real deal when all is said and done. His hype is warranted. I can only see Inoue continuing to move up after he beats Butler. I honestly think he has what it takes to beat Fulton and MJ. Inoue has the frame to go as far as 126, perhaps even 130. To me I think Inoue has the right style to beat Bam. But hey, we won’t know until they step in the ring together, if that ever does happen.
yes. there is a way to make the most of what your era is offering you. if bam beats monster first, him beating any 115 pounder dont mean **** after, he already beat the monster. but if he beats choco then inoue. both huge historical wins adding to the naturally evolving atg career.
i just had a thought, popped into my head about what weve been discussing. made me laugh bout the reveal. i remember the posts about the huge ask it was for kovalev, given 5 weeks to prepare for a guy moving up 2 weights to fight him. this unknown kid moves up 2 weights to fight at top level, on a WEEKS notice. and he delivered a clinic on the unorthodox champ. he proceeds to his next test at top level. and delivers a beating on the toughest of the champs. now he has the textbook champs left. and bam is the best textbook champ under 135 in boxing right now. and getting better.
