If and only, there is knockdown on either end then God help us all as we watch Meyran figure out on how to count to 10!

Jimmy Young was slick enough to beat Ali. Everyone knows that Ali was gifted that fight. ALI ONLY THREW 2 MISSED PUNCHES IN ROUND 1!
Tyson throws alot more than that!
I dont see Jimmy going past 2 rounds with Tyson! Not in Tokyo or butphuck nowhere! Imho

He had the offensive authority to hold off and clown Foreman.

Tyson didn't look human at all in heaps of fights at Heavyweight Mark. Unless for some reason you are somehow talking size only and not performance.

Arrr, Tokyo Porry The Pallot and Octavio The Human Atomic Clock Meyran rear their ugly heads again.

So very much like Boris Badenov and Natasha Fatale. They need Count Von Count from Sesame Street to give this scam some credibility.

A bird clapping on you is supposed to be lucky - not so rucky for Iron Mike since it missed him and hit the canvas instead, and down went Mike, down went Mike…

Polly immediately flew off after dropping her payload (her A(vian) Bomb) and hid under Cosell’s toupee - which then appeared to be moving crazily of its own accord…

More madness than we saw in Lewiston Maine…

Oops, alarm’s gone off again Rich, time for my “vitamins”….now which one do I take first again - the blue, the red, the green? - it’s all too confusing . My blain hurts.

Ali vs Young - I think it was the first time Compubox gave stats on fighters sticking their heads through and outside the ring ropes. Never before or again since…Jimmy was an innovator who simply didn’t catch on. An unsung anti hero.

Jimmy was very clever in that sense but he only used maybe 1 minute total with all 3 times he showed of his hidden outside the ropes skill.
What about the other 44 minutes?
Its always interesting how Ali fans grasp onto the famous JY rope move instead of just admitting Ali was gifted the W.

That's true, mate. He was never seen really, in that bracket of big hitters.
    Tho he certainly hammered Tyson.

Putting the decision aside, I’ve never seen anyone the pull the head/rope stunt like JY did..he HAD to know it was illegal. I could be wrong but I think he did it every time Ali actually landed and had him backed up.

Just a random observation re JY - he was reputed not to have much of a punch, and in manifest practice that was generally true. Sometimes a fighters style is not properly identified and recognised as an inhibitor to the natural potential for power.

Not saying defensive minded JY could hit like Shavers but sometimes, when he accented on it, he was able to shake up the likes of Lyle, Norton and even pre Shavers Ali who could still withstand the power of The Acorn.

JY, while soft in the body, wasn’t so small - def. 6’2” - not so much to choose between he and Ali/Norton in terms of general natural size.

Jimmy shoulda hit the weights for some extra bulk - or even a roided JY, 220 lbs solid, how would’ve that gone? :)

One last thing, sorry to rant but the HW Title is borrowed and ideally respected but, tbh, Ali disrespected the title in his later years coming in out of shape the way he did..even boasting about it..saying he thought so little of his opponent he didn’t even bother training..still, Ali obviously still held some net value for boxing at large..thus he might’ve been done a favour or two…

Yes, I think he would in exactly the same way that Foreman won.
Jimmy Young performed well against punchers, so in addition to the win over Foreman, he also has two wins over Ron Lyle; draw and lost to Earnie Shavers.
But the main factor is that Tokyo Tyson was totally out of shape, both physically and mentally (It wasn't 1988 Mike Tyson).

Can't agree with that, Tyson looked like he always looked against Douglas he was just in with someone who fought back and didn't fall down when Tyson yelled BOO!

I really like your post, also the new brigade of villains that are following Iron Mike in his fantasy fights. Lol.
