From minimumweight to heavyweight who's the hardest puncher in each division in the history of boxing? Bonus question: Who's currently the hardest hitter in every weight division today?
Makhmudov Papin Beterbiev Benavidez Golovkin Murtazaliev Ennis Zepeda R Garcia Rakhimov Wood Hovhannisyan Inoue
Current: Z Zhang Makabu Beterbiev Canelo Golovkin Charlo Ennis Sasaki Tank Cordina Magsayo Akhmadaliev Inoue Wangek Nakatani Yabuki G Shigeoka
That's a tough question (regarding TODAY) because there aren't a ton of truly big punchers around today, other than Wilder, Beterbiev and Inoue. Maybe Ennis. When you go through them, some divisions don't really have any. For example, if Jermell Charlo is the best puncher at light middleweight, that's not saying much about the punchers there. He's only stopped like half his opponents. Seems like there are some eras where they have a glut of not only big punchers but the best punchers up to that time. Like the 80s had Aaron Pryor (light welter), Tommy Hearns (welter), Julian Jackson (light middleweight) even Wilfredo Gomez at super bantam. You could've thrown them in the best of that time and the best ever categories. The only modern fighter I'd list as the best puncher both now and all-time is arguably Deontay Wilder at heavyweight. I don't even think Beterbiev is better than, say, Michael Moorer at light heavy, or Archie Moore.
