How Does Arthur Abraham match up with a middleweight Randy Turpin?

Turpin has a good chin and people can see i've always rated him as a fighter. Strong himself and could really impose himself, punches in bunches that come in behind the jab. This Abraham is a strong and good fighter though, and has serious, serious power. He's definitely got a chance but that jab of Turpin i reckon would be a factor and i'm taking him on that.

 

Turpin was smart. He could keep his eyes open and avoid the shots he needed to. He had a versatile arsenal and could mix it up when necessary. He'd be able to sneak round the guard and build up points, and then defend well when AA comes out of his shell. He also had a hell of a chin when he was on form. (How he got up from that right hand from Robinson gets me to this day.) He takes a decision.

(At 160 this is.)

 

Didn't know that but it certainly looks like it. Birh of these guys guys have huge shoulders and backs.

 

I love Randolph Turpin think he's a great fighter I believe he takes this by decision

 

Turpin wins this, would be a battle of the strong guys.

 

Turpin was the better fighter but Abraham was a very tough fighter

 

I think Abraham’s style of fighting with his hands up trying to catch everything instead of moving his head plays against him here. I think Turpin will have the chance to bang him up in succession too often. How much can Abe catch and block before he starts getting caught or tired arms? I don’t know though, I’ve seen little of Arthur. Though I used to want to fight that way for some reason…

 

The opposite is probably true.

Would Abraham be as strong having to make 160 on the day of the fight? The way Turpin had to.

 

It's mad how much Abrahams reputation has fallen. He was seen as a beast in his prime.

 

If they wanna be matched against greats of yesteryear these are the hoops they have to jump through.

 

So was Turpin after beating Robinson.
