I like both fighters but sorry guy Lewis walks through him in 4 rounds and that's being generous. The difference in size, strength, height and reach is just too huge not to mention it's Lennox Lewis who is the best super Heavyweight ever.

This is the equivalent to putting Duran in his prime at lightweight against Marciano in terms of weight, Marciano would walk through him.

Rocky was a Heavyweight back then, he could have potentially been a light heavyweight anywhere from the 70's to present.

Facts, there's no fighters under 200 pounds in history beating Lennox Lewis, Klitschko brothers or Tyson Fury.

Rocky couldn’t have been anything other than a heavyweight. Just because Super heavyweights were invented by modern science it doesn’t mean Rocky becomes a light heavyweight after a certain timeline. He was and still is a heavyweight.

Today they call existing heavyweights “cruiserweight”.

Just So they can call superheavyweights “heavyweight”.

    That’s all that happened.

He weighed 189, that`s a small cruiser right? Surely he could have trimmed down to light-heavy being only 5`9, he had the same reach as Duran!

Thats what they call it now. And it’s only because SHW is not observed in professional boxing.

not under old rules. sports science changed everything. That’s why there are SHWs in existence.

It`s got nothing to do with science, Marciano was only 5`9, the average heavyweight in the 80`s was not under 201lbs and neither was any top 10 heavy in the 70`s and that had nothing to do with science.

The science made all fighters heavier. The science made the tallest fighters even heavier. And that’s the problem with making comparison between the post sports science era and pre science era. You can’t level the field because you can’t know what the modern fighter looks like without the advances in science.

People are getting bigger, the average height during Napoleon`s reign was 5`7, humans are still evolving and are getting taller.

Rocky didn't have the quicks, the height or length to reach him.

Rahman was a lot bigger than Rocky, Marciano never knocked out a fighter like Lewis, Tua had more power than Marciano.

Can you explain why people have said that quote for years as if they just hit lennox 1 time only and he fell? And lennox wasnt In shape why even bring up a match where a person wasnt in shape? What is the purpose?,why say a man who was a lhw/basic who never would land on lennox would ko him?

Listen to a boxing expert give his prediction and breakdown on an upcoming fight and see how often they get it right. That's one good way to know if someone truly knows what they're talking about. Commentary is another. Manny Steward often used to give excellent incisive commentary on a fight that wasn't at all obvious from what was going on in the ring but turned out to have some bearing on the outcome. He was a genuine expert and a masterful trainer.

There are a hell of a lot of frauds though, and people stuck in the past, or experienced knowledgeable guys too wrapped up in their own biases to deliver truly balanced opinions. And many boxing fans don't always know how to spot the difference between those types and the real deal.
