What is an honest rating of Zhilei Zhang

He's not very heavy handed lmao.

 

Zhang is my new favourite boxer- I had a bet on him knocking Hrgovic down in the first at 40-1 and he delivered the goods.

 

Big hits hard takes a good punch

Limited arsenal, poor stamina, not a great ring general

He is well above Chisora and Takam, just that he’s old.

 

Hearn confirm that he wants AJ to fight in China. So Zhang will be high in the ratings until then.

 

Fringe top 10 atm, perfect opponent for ajs next fight imo.

 

Could knock out Dosh if he can repeat his level in Mecca.

 

Comfortably top 20. Around top 15 seems reasonable. But top 10? I think there are fighters who have done more and don't have the obvious limitation of struggling to get though 12 under their own weight that makes it difficult to see Zhang as a viable top 10 guy.

His power and IQ still make him exciting and dangerous when matched. Could cause an upset against a top 10 contender.

I've enjoyed his fights thus far, win, lose or draw

AJ got beat by Whyte as an amateur, and of course Zhang wasn't 280 pounds back then. Not saying he would 100% win but if he can land on Joshua like he did on Hrgovic he would get the KO

 

But he's also way slower and gassier now than he was then, thus more hittable. And if Joshua hits him I don't see him just eating those shots forever. I think this is a very easy Joshua win personally, though if Joshua's head isn't screwed on straight Zhang can definitely take it off for him.
