Marshall is like a broken record banging on about this win in the amateurs 11 years ago. She lost 16 times herself as an amateur.
Women's boxing has certainly grown on me. In the trash talking all Savannah has on clarrisa is a win a long long time ago, whilst shields resume is exemplory. Sav has turned into a good pro but there's no underestimate what shields has done and to lose only once in all that time is massive. I'm edging towards shields.
There's only two women's boxers that I will watch and that's Taylor and Marshall, the rest are dreadful and don't have that crossover appeal. I'm sure some will disagree but it is what it is. 20 years ago I never imagined myself admitting to watching any women box, never mind two so it's progress.
Same mate, the likes of Chantelle Cameron bore me to death. No denying her respective talent but it’s just not very entertaining.
I'd put Taylor in that bracket too. It took a really good confident fighter to drag an entertaining fight out of her in Serrano. Shields is is boring as hell too but at least Marshall will try and knock her out.
