In my opinion,it's the John Collins fight. Sibbo did everything right in this one. He knew that he needed to put on a good show after the Marvin Hagler bout and he sure gave us one. Tony proved that he was one of the best middleweights around at that time.

That was definitely one of his best.
I also think, when he actually smashed Minter.
I know Alan was way past best by then, but still not many did that to Him.
His loss to Hagler, even though he lost, he fought to his best and put in a gutsy display.
Course, he was in with Marvin near prime, so never gonna win.
I liked Tony, he had his heart on his sleeve and was a down to earth type guy.
As an aside, I give him a good chance of beating prime Eubank.
Styles make fights thing, mate imo.

One of Britain's best ever boxers,Fergy. I've met him and as you say,a good down to earth guy. I also give him a good shot at beating Eubank.

The Collins fight was very cool as John Collins was being hyped and Sibbo spanked him. The near shutout of Dwight Davidson was very impressive. That or Minter would be my pick. He had some nice wins.

You sure bout that? Heard of Steve Collins who beat Benn an Eubank . Never heard of John Collins. Who did he ever beat that made whoever beat Collins one of the best middleweights in the world.?

It had disappeared for a while but seems to be back.

Those last few hooks really ruined Minters nose.

Good to see it again. Minter didn’t look shot to me.He just couldn’t handle the pressure that Sibson was putting on him an could never recover from the big left hook that put him down. Notice also just at the end that Minter had a bad habit of half turning his back to his opponent an stop fighting when he got badly hurt by a shot. Did the same against Hagler just before the fight was stopped.

Hello Jack. John Collins was an up and coming American contender in the early 80s. No relation to Steve.

The Dwight Davison fight for me. Davison was already an established top contender, which made it impressive. The John Collins fight was impressive because, man, Sibbo's reflexes were firing on all cylinders that night. But Collins was more of a top prospect than contender at that stage, which is why I like the Davison fight.

It is not often i disagree with you Fergie but Minter was not way past his best. Not prime Minter but i would say he was only sleightly over the hill

Wasn't that his last fight tho, Noel?
I've got to admit, I'm not a big expert on the guy so I'm probably surmising, mate.

Many years ago whilst travelling to Chester races in the car Tony Sibson was on the radio giving his thoughts on the upcoming Christie v Kaylor fight.Tony told everyone to put their money on the underdog Kaylor as he was very impressed with him in their fight.I followed Tony`s advice and won a good amount of money and thus the reason Mark is one of my favourite fighters ever. Many thanks for the tip off Tony
