Old George Foreman was famous for having one of the best chins ever. That's not a good measuring stick for what an old boxer's chin should be like.

How are people getting this wrong

    10-9 x8 = 8 point advantage to Ortiz
    10-9, 10-9, 10-8, 10-7= 7 points to Ruiz

Minus the knockdown, Ruiz basically fought like a blubbery poor man's 50-year-old Hopkins. Circling slowly, occasional counter, abysmal workrate.

You know what you are going to get from Ruiz no matter what the promise, 270lbs, power and low activity. He got outboxed but 2 kd's tough to overcome. That's Ruiz' weight and no point of kidding yourself or getting lower. Try to take this as far as it takes you. Love to see him vs Wilder, we already saw Ortiz vs Wilder so no point in that. Respect for Ortiz' toughness and longevity, he did great outside those temple shots, was the better fighter overall even at this age.

Ortiz is getting so weird to watch because having any boxing ability and being a southpaw puts him quite far up in the division but the deficits from his age and wear are growing fast.

Which means, if he won 5 rounds versus Ortiz's 7, but he gets a 10-7 round and a 10-8 round in there... He wins.

Foreman spent his prime years out of the sport, Ortiz has over 300 amateur fights and his pro career.. abit different.

Damn so this was a very close fight. I think Ortiz from the first Wilder fight beats Ruiz. Old back then, ancient now. Still has a bit left though.

Bring on Wilder vs Ruiz next year.

Who did he ever beat? Jennings? It's all speculation how good Ortiz was. I doubt he ever had a good chin.

Not that the amateurs matter but I think he lost every fight to Solis, who didn't pan out in the pros.

I'm not saying Ortiz sucks or anything but he is vastly overrated by many people.
