Joyce would jump of Parker should he win. Whyte depends on his opponent buts its rumoured to be Dubois.
Obvious next fight for both fighters and could easily be mate an eliminator for a mandatory shot or even a vacant title if Fury/Usyk happens and the winner retires which is definitely possible. I think Ruiz might have a chance vs Wilder if he can take that right hand. He again showed a good chin again vs Ortiz taking some big left hands. Obviously Wilder is a bigger puncher than anyone Ruiz has fought but it might take more than one bomb from Wilder to keep Ruiz down. Would be funny to see if a short stack like Ruiz could out box Wilder. Surely Wilder's boxing skills are not that bad, he was at least able to out box the shorter Stiverne in their first fight. But if Ruiz makes Wilder reach in like he did with Ortiz it could happen as he counters Wilder's attacks from the outside.
Whyte got KOed in 2 of his last 3 fights and badly i might add. Ruiz has won his past 2 fights tho he looked lackluster against Ortiz. Oldtiz is still a better win h2h than povetkin at this point.
Joyce went 6 rounds with a more shot version of Stiverne than Wilder KO'd in 1 without taking a single punch. Joyce also won a close decision against final career fight Jennings in Britain, who Ortiz outboxed 4-2 and smoked in 7 when he was 7 years younger than he is now, taking Ruiz 12 rounds and winning 6-7 on the cards. I can't see Whyte taking the Dubois fight, too high a risk of being starched again. He'll duck that one as he did Wallin and fight a bum instead, so that a big money AJ rematch can be made in mid-late 2023, in which he'll get starched again.
Ruiz doesn't have the height and reach of Stiverne or Arreola, both of which Wilder was able to outbox comfortably and hurt. Does Ruiz have faster feet than those guys? He's 20-30 lbs heavier than both. He doesn't have more power and maybe has a worse chin too.
Ruiz, if training properly, can have a good speed, but has to lower the current weight to be like around 115 kg or even 110, as he currently is 122. He has fast and strong hands, avid chin. Well, he's slower than Wilder, shorter, but with better technique. Could cause him a problem, if he survives the cross I think he'll beat him, not necessarily via some sort of knockout, but on points.
Wilder v Ruiz is a good fight to make AJ is the fight I'd like to see more than anything but failing that... matchups against Ruiz, Whyte and Joyce are all fights I'd be keen on
Yes but Whyte still has a better record and beaten the better Opponent of the two in recent fights in Povetkin (who was levels above Ortiz) than Ruiz has in his last 2 fights.
It doesnt matter who youve beat, it matters what you have done lately and Ruiz has done much more than Whyte Has to this point. Whyte has fallen outside the top 5.
Lol wut? He is way ahead of Parker & Ruiz. These two just lose big fights repeatedly and are fringe world level at best. Ruiz has two wins since the Joshua rematch and just challenged the hardest puncher in the division to become mandatory to Usyk/Fury. Madness
Ruiz of ahead of Parker and Ruiz? Did you Parker and Whyte? Parker is coming off beating Chisora twice and if successful against Joyce becomes the mandatory against Usyk. Whyte only two fights ago beat one of the most proven and hardest punchers in divison in Povetkin whilst having a lot more depth to record than Ruiz. Also Ruiz has ducked two offers to fight Whyte.
Did you forget that Povetkin ko’d Whyte the fight before that? Parker beating Chisora isn’t that big of a deal, Chisora almost always nearly wins but finds a way to lose. He’s basically a gatekeeper at this point. Parker couldn’t do anything with Junior Fa and looked terrible whereas a 200 year old Lucas Browne ko’d him. There isn’t a scenario at this moment in time where you could convince me that Parker or Whyte are ahead of Ruiz. Now if Parker can beat Joyce which is very unlikely then yea I see a clear path to a title fight, but Whyte would have to get the Wilder or Joshua fight and win to be anywhere near one
The top two are Fury and Usyk The next two are AJ and Wilder However you order 1/2 and 3/4 is opinion based but there are arguments either way. Anything else just shows a clear bias. For me Ruiz would be 5th, as things stand. With the winner of Parker/Joyce being in contention for that spot. Fury, Usyk, AJ, Wilder, Ruiz is my top 5.
