If he had quicker feet he'd do better in those match ups, just a bit easy to control and his punch output isn't high enough. Good chin and power but he loses most of those. Always has a punchers chance of repeating his Garden ko.

Ruiz has always been a fat and lazy guy that has an excellent chin and fast hands. Ruiz was a lot more cautious with Ortiz, since Ortiz despite his age is way more experienced than Parker.

Also, Parker had an advantage of having sparred Ruiz several times before their fight, since Barry at one time trained both Parker and Ruiz, so Parker knew to use his mobility against Ruiz and not trade too much.

Joyce vs Ruiz would be very interesting. Joyce forces a pace that Ruiz can't keep up with but Joyce also plays into Ruizs style. Joyce would take a lot of punishment in this fight.

He was fighting a relative featherfist with little killer instinct in Parker. Ortiz has superior skills, is a southpaw and has big power, hence Ruiz's caution and inactivity. Ruiz was 256 when he got dropped and hurt by Arreola and 268 when he destroyed AJ.

I think we will see Ruiz against the winner of Wilder v Helenius fight next .

Whyte would beat him as well, UD. I said it before the Arreola fight and it's even more evident now. Ruiz is terrible at creating openings or forcing the pace of a fight. It's almost all reactive stuff from him. Anyone with a decent jab and command of the ring keeps him in his shell where he handspeed isn't a factor (since his feet are stuck in mud).

Someone like Chisora or Demirezen might make a decent fight with him, or Kownacki or maybe Takam. Shorter guys who'll be forced to walk into his wheelhouse.

    But he could win against:
    - Whyte by TKO
    - Chisora by UD
    - Pulev by TKO
    - Hunter by UD
    - Yoka by TKO

Fury stops him while far bigger punchers only win a decision?

Fury has the ability to land punches that some of the other guys won't be able to do. At the end of the day, it's not just about power, it's about landing punches Ruiz can't see coming.

You have only Wilder stopping him. I'd rate a couple of the other guys listed as more likely to stop Ruiz than Fury or Wilder.

I also have Zhang stopping him. Ruiz does have a good chin and he's not going to get stopped easily.

Ruiz got hit a lot by Ortiz in the last round and he didn't get buzzed. It's going to take a hard shot or a shot he doesn't see coming to knock him out.

I think Ruiz would be tough cuz of his hand speed. A broken clock is right twice a day, and I think eventually Ruiz would catch him. He's also MUCH better at finding the body than AJ. Thing is, Usyk is going to look human against everyone he fights at Heavyweight. Just like Tyson did. It's tough to always fight bigger guys. Tyson was only 5'10.

Yes, but he took a round or two off even in that fight. And that likely cost him the decision.

Ruiz Jr showeed he could back up AJ. Ruiz actually used to be one of the pressure fighting HWs out there. Circa 2016 I would have ranked Povetkin the #1 Pressurei Fighter HW and Ruiz Jr a reasonably-close #2.

These days Ruiz Jr favors counterpunching in a phonebooth as his legs just aren't up to lugging around the rest of him for very long.
