    Instead of cancelling the card why not just make it women only attendance so that way it doesn't have to be postponed and the arena will still be empty.

    They couldve put one male fight on the card. For diversity's sake. Or is this to show the public they dont need men to turn a profit...(even though male attendance is ensuring this ). The left would say 'women are conditioned not to attend fighting events due to social constructs". This takes time."

    "Just delaying it" is no easy though.
    Fighters and their coaches have all kinds of commitments around the world and many of them are supposed to fly back home next week. And some of them doing painful weight cuts as well. Someone as big as Mikaela Mayer can't do draining weight cuts a few weeks apart.
    They would have to reschedule it maybe for November and build the card again.

    No its not tradition - when King George VI died in 1952, they did not postpone the football fixtures that week - so why should anything get cancelled/postponed this weekend.

    People don't generally pay to attend weigh-ins, they do pay to watch a fight. Tickets have been sold for this. If it goes ahead - and I think/hope it will - everyone who wants to go will be able to.

    The country is officially in ten days of mourning. They're not gonna stop everything for ten days but what's required is some gesture which pays respect. Having the weigh-in behind closed doors is an attempt to do just that but keep the fight on...
