Hopefully they will rethink that. Haney/Kambosos II is that night plus Wilder/Helenius PPV. They should move it to September 30 as there's nothing going that weekend.
Next time there's a debate on whether boxing is better hosted in the UK or the USA, let this be reminder why Vegas is considered the mecca of boxing for a reason.
If this had been AJ vs Fury scheduled to take place in the UK this weekend, do you think it would have been canceled? I honestly don’t know…just wondering what others think.
Fight should be rescheduled to Las Vegas or Madison Square Garden. If any Britons wanna cry about their Queen they can stay home and do it. The others can jump on a plane just like they did for Hatton and Fury. Unbelievable this cancelled while cricket and rugby and horse racing still play on this weekend. This will definitely affect both fighters as now they have to recoup from peaking/making weight and switch back to train 20-30 more days to peak on October 15th. It would have been better to reschedule 3 months out rather than 1 for this reason alone. But whatever, **** Eddie Hearn and his incessant hardon to host fights in the UK even though the main event and co main event are 75% American fighters, just to gain as much advantage as possible for Savanna Marshall. This only delays her inevitable ass whooping to Claressa Shields though, I was looking forward to all the excuses Sunday morning.
Boxxer site says 15th October (Saturday) at O2. Shields is supposed to be training for MMA starting next week...
Gate sales are a fraction of what a boxing event generates. That's why an isolated location in the desert called Las Vegas can generate so much money.
