Personally, I'm still astonished that a fight involving both a severely weight drained fighter , and a retired fighter that was in a fight that led to many changes in British boxing, is being sanctioned by the BBBoC, is being allowed to happen. It's simply scandalous.

If something (heaven forbid) were to happen to Eubank the ramifications would be huge

He was probably given reassuarances by CEJ that it won't be an issue and he is now seeing the results.

I too can confirm this and that CEJ should earn more from this fight than he did the whole WBSS.

And the bucket of chicken (i've never seen someone eat KFC so tentatively) stunt bites him on the back side if he fails to make the weight.

He's trying to portray the fact he's not worried about making the weight (some would say not trying) which is the ONLY thing he needs to worry about in this fight right now imo.

You see it as him portraying he has no issues making the weight , I see it as him portraying a total disregard for the fight, he hasn't even got a trainer at the moment has he?

I don't think he'll be too disappointed if the fight doesn't happen.

Eubank doesn't have to make the weight if he doesn't want to and should take the fine. There is no way Hearn and DAZN will call the card off because it is PPV and they are relying on this to drive subscriptions. A sold out O2 Arena too.

For some reason I thought it was Kell Brook that Barry Hearn was in the sauna with.

Tbh he probably doesn't even need to take the fine. If he got a medical supervisor in to testify that it was severely dangerous to his health should he try to make that weight with the stupid rehydration clause In that's been put in place then no court In the land would side with Hearn and his stupid contracts.

Neither fighter has been retired. Are you confusing the fighters with their fathers?

I think the chance of this fight not going ahead is less than 5%- both Benn and Eubank when all is said and done are aware of their own limitations and have little interest in titles or legacy, they are largely driven by greed. Eubank is very transparent about it- he openly calls out YouTube novice fighters despite being a pro for 11 years and only fighting for a world title once in over a decade! When you think about his age and the platform he has due to his father that is quite incredible.

Eubank making 157 is not a deal breaker and as for the rehydration he can pay the fine and be a few lb's over on the day of the fight no way will that stop the fight, regardless of what anyone is saying today.

They will both make more from this fight then they could from fighting 3 times against other (realistic) opponents.

If Eubank wins which he should I would expect a rematch to go ahead next year too if it goes to points for e.g.

So not much to worry about here, I see this as just a ploy to generate interest and attention also some mind games to a degree. It will be putting some pressure on team Benn regarding the rehydration clause too- but mainly the former.

I think Eubank Jnr. does not need to go to the lengths of renegotiation a contract so close to the actual fight. He can take a fine (he's hardly short of money!), beat Conor, and then fight and beat him again. If it's a decent fight and goes the distance the re-match is definitely there.

Mind games. Senior is a legend but very much the attention seeker.

And he’s now 33! Metabolism slower (and carrying a little more muscle over time)..

There’s no way, if the fight goes ahead, that Eubank Sr won’t be in that corner. They’d need ankle restraints on him. He couldn’t live with himself if Jr died in the ring and he wasn’t there to protect him/throw in the towel.

No, I'm not, what I meant is, Eubank snr was involved in the tragic Watson fight, which led to sweeping medical changes in British boxing, and to have a son involved in a fight where the danger of such an incident is compounded, by stringent and stupid (in my opinion) weight/rehydration clauses, is what astonishes me, surely the irony of having the Eubank name linked to a fight where safety seems to be bypassed in the pursuit of PPV cash is obvious to all????
