He was well past it, reigned as a champion for over 10 years before he fought Fury. He was not in his Prime when he fought Fury or Joshua so don’t try to use that a measuring stick for whats about to happen in December

I'm not surprised at all that Joshua accepted this fight. What's more surprising is that Fury offered Joshua a 40% split given the fact that he's lost 3 of his last 5 fights once to a Fatty McFatty and twice to a guy he enjoyed a massive size advantage over.

In reality, Joshua does bring name recognition, but his value given his recent run is more around 30%.

Joshua's very fortunate to be given such a high profile fight so soon.

Just a shame AJ has been handicapped with over ten weeks notice.
Add the few weeks he's had off since his tantrum, that's three months between fights.
He'll be a shell of himself!
People should also remember the guy has other duties too.
He has to spend time being a role model to the stripper's kid.
And he does lots of sophisticated management work.
Some people have claimed that because he just lets Matchroom manage him like a puppet, he must be dumb. But it's actually because he's so busy managing other fighters himself. The guy is a powerhouse bidness man.
Can't wait until he gets someone to ghost-write his memoirs, so we can finally get a glimpse into this great mind.
Future Prime Minister material, and I'm not even kidding. This is the UK!

He is a commercial juggernaut and someone who Fury sees as an easier task than Usyk. So it does make sense

Who ever you are rooting for here, in my opinion Fury has the potential to end AJs career badly.

If Wilder couldn't stop Fury, Tony Pillow fists isn't making a dent.

He was older when he fought AJ and AJ went to war with him, whereas he barely landed a glove on Fury and was younger.

AJ is a better finisher than Wilder, but Wilder is so tricky because his reach is huge and he can land bombs from distance. AJ does not do this.

Fury clearly has defensive skills, as evidenced in that fight. You may wish he didn't but he absolutely does.

What you are describing is the long guard combined with posting, framing and collar ties. It works very well as a defensive method for bigger fighters against smaller fighters. Lewis, Wlad and Hearns all used it effectively.

I think Fury has pretty good defence overall but he is prone to lapses in concentration if he takes his opponent lightly or simply taking some risks. But I don't think we'll see that vs Joshua.

I think Fury is more prone to OH rights that straight right myself both Cunningham and Pajkic dropped him with OH rights. An OH right's trajectory means it arcs over an extended lead hand which Fury uses, where as a straight right can be blocked by an extended lead hand.

Where the straight right is more effective vs Fury is when he drops the lead hand. When Fury does that he then tries to roll under the right hand but as we saw both times in fight 1 with Wilder if you adjust the trajectory of the straight right you can catch him.

In the 3rd Wilder fight Fury was caught coming in with a high guard and dropped. In fact Fury rarely used the jab and extended lead hand he usually does with the long guard because of his elbow problems. A fit Fury utilising the long guard doesn't get caught by Wilder's right hand.
