This is great news, but does a post-Usyk "hip hip hooray" AJ stand a chance? Pre-ruiz AJ would have been ideal for this fight, but now the guy seems broken, which i'm guessing is why Fury wants the fight.

Does anyone really compare AJ to Wilder for f**** sake ?
Wilder is telegraphing his punches badly, and even in the second fight when he get absolutely destroyed, he still managed to land at least 5 right hands at Fury.
AJ is setting his punches, and cover them very well. He actually know what feints mean. Also he won't have zero problem with Fury speed and movement, simply because Usyk is so much faster and better mover. Fury has never been a great lateral mover as well.

Fury won't have the massive strength and weight advantage over he have against Wilder, and Wilder have nothing to offer inside. AJ has a career ending Uppercut, huge and fast hooks, and now he also have insanely fast body shots that comes with a combo.

AJ will just go body-upstair and will lure Fury into something big and finish him.

Also people talk about AJ cardio, hell nothing wrong with AJ cardio. He managed to survive 24 rounds with the guy with the highest punch output in the division by far, and it was not just throwed and landed punches, but Usyk constant movement and pressure that constantly drain you. On top of that there was no clinches at all in all of this 24 rounds, and AJ was throwing even in the last rounds, so he have plenty of cardio to deal with Fury, even if this goes full 12 rounds.

    @SlowSmith7,

We are now four years and some change down the road and Joshua has nothing to lose and significantly less clout than before. Let's not pretend that the power structure hasn't considerably altered.

A modest kudos to him for taking the fight, though.

Sounds wishful on your part. Or else delusional.

Neither Fury nor Wilder were ever scared of Oluwafemi.

I got no problem with getting away for good if Fury wins. I will come here and congratz Fury fans to the win, say i was wrong, giving Fury credit, and be gone for good.

Imagine if AJ wins? That would be as big an upset As Douglas beating Tyson was back in 1990. That would cause an esb meltdown honestly.

    No concession.

If the fellow wants to give himself a way to leave the forum out of embarrassment at having read this matchup so badly, that's on him.

As i said if i'm wrong i got no problem leaving the forum for good. My life not depend on it, neither i will lose something that i can't live without.

While there is a lot of great poster on here, and it's great to have discussion, most are just ridiculous fangirls that are twisting every post and just trying to excuse their fighter and just being biased blinded fanboys, which i can't stand.

I have said many times and from long time ago, that AJ beats Fury, and i 100% believe it and stand by my point.
And getting a prediction wrong is everything but embarrassment, especially when it's for the so call underdog. There was a survey at Youtube like 500+k. votes, and Fury was leading 93-7 for who will win the match.

So very soon we will find out who actually know a thing or two about boxing, and who is just a fangirl that all he see is with a biased glasses.

Oh wow, a knockout win over Kevin Johnson in 2015. Impressive :risas3:

Joshua has average Heavyweight power imo. Yes he had good stoppages against Klit and Povetkin. They were the wrong side of 40 but I'll give him credit.

Other than that I've not seen much to make me think Joshua has elite power. He barely tickled Usyk, didn't do anything to Parker. 1 KD against Ruiz which he immediately recovered from, and then he barely troubled him. Took forever to get rid of old man Pulev, needed the worst stoppage of all time to get rid of old man Takam.

It's all a bit underwhelming really. Joshua and Wilder have 1 common opponent. Compare and contrast how Wilder dealt with Dominic Brezeale.

You said you'd been calling this one for Joshua since a "long time ago", which implies 2017 on. There has passed a lot of water under the bridge since then, plenty of time and significant event for you to appreciate that neither man is what you thought they were.

Reappraisal isn't necessarily weakness. Though, there's also nothing wrong with sticking to your guns, if it's not just out of pure obstinacy.

Anyway, I get it. You're digging your heels in. And you've given yourself an out for when it all goes wrong.
